My new custom built cage!

I found this great rolling cabinet by a dumpster about a week ago. Here's what I did to turn it into an awesome enclosure:

First I cut out the 2 sides and the back. The front has 2 glass doors with heavy duty magnet latches.

Next I cut out the bottom which turned into my drain area which goes through a 1/4 inch screen and into an rectangular bucket. I also cut the top out and mounted a 1/4 inch metal screen to hold lights and dripper system.

Next I screened in all sides and covered exposed areas with a waterproof laminate material. (Got it free from work.) I made sure to angle the bottom laminate by 1/8th of an inch to help water flow into drainage area.

Then I sealed in all laminate / water leak areas with 100% silicon 2. This is weatherproof and rain ready caulk style silicon.

Once everything was dried I mounted my basking branch about 9 inches away from the top and added various artificial vines leaves and other items. Natural sticks were also added.

So far I have had the dripper system running for a few hours and everything seems to work great. I plan to automate the dripper at some point but for now i made a sealed dripper with airline tubing a valve and a 1 gallon bucket. Overall it was a fun process building and designing the enclosure! My male 2.5 year old jackson will be going in tomorrow !
