My new HORSESHOE CRAB ROACHES

Recently I received a group of HORSESHOE CRAB ROACHES from @jamest0o0
I've placed them on a layer of damp Orchid bark. Covered by a layer of dried Oak leaves.
They're being fed cut vegetables and REPASHY BUG BURGER.
I did feed off four this morning. Two small nymphs to my little Panther who is recovering from MBD and one each of the adults to my adult Veileds.
They're very crunchy!
These roaches are not very roach like: They're slow. They don't climb and they don't fly.
There's also no smell.
I'll be waiting another month or more until they begin to reproduce until I feed them with any regularity

They look interesting. My question is, if they get out can they infest your house? I use Dubai because they can’t infest your house unless you live in a place like Florida which is much like the environment they come from.

They stopped selling Dubia because they COULD colonize in ssf south Florida.
HORSESHOE are legal because they're indigenous.
(From what I've heard)

Is your colony still doing well? Have you changed anything with their husbandry?

I’m wondering because I’m researching best setups for this species. :)

That could be said for pretty much every species of roach with the exception of like a half dozen? out of thousands. Most roaches aren’t any more likely to infest your house than a bird lol. The only ones that might come close(but still nothing like what you imagine when you think infestation from something like German cockroaches) would be lobsters or in some climates, red runners. Even for the ones that can breed at room temp, they just don’t have the capacity to keep it up with the lack of heat/food/humidity/substrate/confined spaces for them to thrive in a typical home. So there’s really nothing to worry about there.

(I know it’s an older post, but just to help clear the air for anyone iffy about trying roaches as feeders)
