Thank you! I had a veiled Cham for a long time but sadly nothing lives forever..
This time I chose a panther. His father threw mean reds and and oranges..
Got him from Chroma Chameleons....
I'm loving the forum so much helpful info!

Beautiful, beautiful boy! Congratulations on the new addition to the family, also glad to have you here :)

Ahh, another tamatave keeper:D I recently added them to my breedeing projects too.I look foward to seeing your boy ashe matures.

I emailed the the guy that I bought him from to confirm his age... After a great deal of reading and askin questions. I was unsure that he was only 3 months old.. Turns out he hatched Jan 20th this year, that makes him about 9 months old now..
He is so much different than my veiled.. Not as entertaining or interactive at all lol.
I trained my veiled to go to the door when I walked by I would open it he would walk out to the end of the door and wait to be put in his tree... He would fall asleep in his tree I would pick him up and put him in his enclosure.. We had an amazing friendship even though He hated me picking him up he was very ok with our living situation, and me walking by him working around him. He just didnt care and loved watching me, just didnt want to be touched.. I miss you amigo!
This one is much differerent and Im not sure a panther was the way to go for me, but maybe I just miss my big green buddy..Veilds I now see have a much different personality
I have only had him two weeks but my veiled at eigts weeks was totally working with me..This guy just wants to not be seen and not have anything to do with me..I leave the door open all the time when Im there he could care less.. Just diferent I guess..

This was Amigo from 8 weeks to about 6-7 months..
You were king buddy!

Every chameleon has their own personality and disposition. My personal preference is Panthers because they tend to be much more friendly (imho) than Veileds - but there are some down right mean Panthers out there too.
My Archimedes has the disposition of a puppy, he loves attention and hand feeding and doesn't mind being handled at all - and he is now a little over 2.5 years old, but when he was 6 mos old- NO WAY! He always wanted to hide in his trees and not come out...but with time & some yummy treats, he learned that when I showed up it meant it was treat time. Give your little dude some time to get acclimated to you and his new surroundings, then break out some treats and see if you don't see a change in his disposition over a few months time.
Good luck & great looking little dude you have too btw!!

Give him time and he'll be a puppy begging to be held before you know it! By locale choice alone, I can tell your an individual that enjoys the finer things life has to offer lol! Welcome btw, and don't hesitate to shoot me a message if you have a question on keeping panthers:D
