My panther chameleon has dark color over last 2 weeks

@mattmak_09 Today I have bought pretty expensive screen cage, but with great air circulation so worth it! After 1 hour my boy started to be green and started to show some red patterns as he did in past!!! I so excited! This week I am going to buy for him real plants and I will add few branches ;) http://imgur.com/a/EFSBP

Something I noticed lately. I put cham to new room where is low traffic almost no noise during the day, he has new glass terrarium, 60W heat bulb. Whe he sleeps he has bright colors (I know PJ fact that chams show great colors when asleep). But in the morning he shows Nosy / Ambanja patterns / colors when the UVB IS OFF. When the UVB IS ON he starts to be dark. I ordered new Arcadia UVB for him.. Till now I used Repti 5.0.

Do you think it could be due to UVB? Since when I turn the UVB off he starts to show nice blue/green colors again..?

Thanks for opininion.

I believe that's just him absorbing heat and uvb. My Cham gets a little darker still when he's close to this basking spot. Once he's had enough, he's back roaming around with his normal colors.

They turn dark alot while basking to draw in heat.My chameleon recently has been sulking bc he went from staying in my babysitters 6 ft enclosure back to his 4 ft enclosure. He has been doing very little exploring, alot of sitting, and turning dark until I put him on his free range and he turns bright colors and moves all over the place. Very tempermental creatures.

Yes, probably, I have bought for him 60W heat bulb. Does it mean that it is not enought and I should consider buying 75W or 100W? When I come to him to mist he turn greenish colors with red paterns. I noticed that his one side which is closer to any bulb is way darker then side facing me.

I spent a lot of time thinking what could be wrong etc... and money to make sure he has the best care. I am afraid that he could be sick, but there isn't any good reptile vet nearby...

I am attaching my setup http://imgur.com/a/xEK3E

if he is staying dark all th timel he very well could be. Especially if he has gone through improper temps for a few weeks. Or parasites. Could be a number of things. Get him out into some real sun as soon as weather permits. Space heaters are also great to bump up the temps. I use mine alot in the mornings to get the heat bumped a tad. I balance it with a humidifier for a few hours.

personally from the looks of him, his arms dont look quite right. Could be a possibility of beginning MBD. Anew arcadia bulb is the way to go. What are you gutloading your crickets with?

I just went back and re-read your post. Your temps are perfect. 32 C I believe is equivilent to 90-95 F....I belive its 95.Id have to double check.

I agree, back leg looks swollen. If I'm not mistaken, the signs of MTB are similar to too much CA. Maybe there was too much supplementation with the CA powder?

Right now I am gutloading crickets with carrots and sweet potatoes. I am using pure Ca without D3 as I corrected my mistake. Do you think he could have MBD??

I found strange white spots on him yesterday, do you have a clue what is it? He was shedding like month ago. http://imgur.com/a/ZY07e

EDIT: he started shedding, I am just being paranoind.

Looks like he's still got some shedding to do. Sometimes my chameleon gets a drab color before a shed, but during and after, all the colors are brighter. A preemptive vet visit may be in order if you're concerned.

Shedding could explain the color for sure. BUT you had a very cruddy brand of UVB light before. Arcadia is the way to go it's what I have. You need to start gutloading your bugs with greens such as collards, mustards, dandelion, and escarole. You can also buy organic gutloaded

I know about the UVB but it is the most supported brand from marketing campaigns, but i am on track right now with Arcadia. I will gutload with different greens. I am taking Marley to vet tomorrow, let's see..

Info from vet: he sent his faeces to some lab and gave him some injection and told me that he looks fine..
