Hey I just obtained a free range 6 foot tree for my chameleon! He loves it:)! I leave him outside for an hour and he just loves to explore it and bask in the Phoenix Sun! Here are some pictures of the tree and my panther Trix! I placed the tree in my backyard. What about you guys any free ranges in your front or backyard? how long do you leave your chameleons outside to obtain sunlight? Thanks!:D

Looks like he's enjoying the sunshine. I'm sure you know to watch him at all times, they can be fast when they want to be. I'm planning on building an outdoor cage this spring, there are to many birds where I live to free range unprotected.

i think ive read that a few hrs in the sunlight is equivilant to months basking in uvb or somthing along those lines. that being said i take my chams out as long as i can. just be sure to keep them hydrated in hot arid weather.

Yea I watch him at all times! & if not my brother is usually in the backyard and I ask him to watch my cham & his always carring his pellet rifle lol so I doubt any birds will want the touch my cham! :D

i lost one of my chams from letting hang out in a tree outside
a while back

I would not free range outside
they can sneak away fast and fast

just be careful! When you say your brother is "watching him" is he really sitting there watching him or is he in the backyard doing other things? The reason i say this is you can turn your back for one minute and he can be out of that tree. I would hate to see you lose your chameleon.

Yea thanks for the advice and yes I always wach him but once in a while I let my brother watch him only when needed. But his old enought to understand to watch my cham. & yea I would hate to loose my cham :(
