Rob, In the winter I kept him quite cold.....50's at night and mid 60's in the daytime. Once or twice a week I'd warm him up in the daytime to the mid 70's. In the summer his high is around 78 and his low in the mid 60's and a basking area of about 80. He even gets a little warmer when he catches the morning sun in his window.

GREAT info Jann!! Thanks The summer temps are not much different than the ambient temps I use for my panthers but those winter temps are the crux for sure!!

I think Padre's winter mode would be similar to burmation in other reptiles.

Amazing and very beautiful.

Just saw a couple in a shop for sale and the male is doing so poorly. Will die soon. Tag is 20K here for the two (for all the Americans it it about 3K). I feel like rescuing them but the price tag is too hefty.

And the husbandy is hard here in Hong Kong where the climate is extreme and hot and very humid during summer.

I always wanted a parson but this is hard to swallow if you love the animal in general. Is he wc or cb? Are you breeding him? Just to know.

Thank you for your very kind words. We do have a few successful keepers here in the US but to my knowledge none that have been able to breed "YET".
