I went to Petsmart this morn to get dog food..and they had a jacksons male in their itty glass cage setup.. He looked very bad.. Scrawny, dark... I felt so bad for him but I knew if I spent $129 to save him, they would just obtain another and the cycle would go on and on..so I refrained but it was not an easy decision on my conscience...

Ha ha ha wow dont get me started, does any one really want to hear my story about Pet CO. My Freakin Gosh i HATE them, they are reptile murderers! and i mean 100% murderers. They kept 3 FULL grown male veiled chams together in a 10x12x36 cage and i saw them fighting numerous times and told management, but they wouldnt separate them. worst of all i called aspcla and they said "we cant do n e thing if you want thing to change take them to small claims court" Also pet co told me on 5 different visits that my Chinese water Dragons needed different cages every time. The killed those 3 chams and killed 4 CWD's 1 of which was mine. I dont knwo how they get away with it but it truely is disgusting! i wish nothing but bad thing to any one who treats animals this grossly wrong!

I called the local state people who overlooked the petstore and their laws about it.. Gosh the title slips me..They said they can only fine in the case of cats and dogs but they could TALK to the store.. well, the pet shop STILL has the skeletons of 2 Tokays in the tank that have been there for well OVER 3 months now.. they did remove the dead geckos since they were in plain view an I complained.. Its unfair how these animals are ranked differently because they are not common. (This is alocal pet store that I wont even step foot in anymore. I reaks and they sell mutts and pass them off as designer breeds)

Well the Jacksons was still there an hour ago..and looking BAD. His humidity read 25% and his temp was over 90.. Hes only about 2 inches, maybe 2.5 if you include his tail..his eyes were sunk and he was sleeping..

Made the mistake of walking in to a petsmart the other day looking for fruit fly colonies. (They had them the last time I was in, but that was back in 2006). Waiting for over 30 minutes gave me some time to look at the animals in there. Had a male veiled, likely 4 months, in a 5 gallon tank, temps over 100, humidity under 25. MBD, burns, all that crap. Asked to talk to whoever was in charge of the reptile department. Gave her the full lecture on the cham, the leopard geckos (all emaciated) and the anoles (dehydrated).
All she did was tell me that the reason there was a water dish in the chameleon enclosure was that customers were complaining that there wasn't one. Why not tell them that they won't drink from standing water. Why blatantly lie to me to save face when I'm offering to help ensure these animals survive until next week.
These people make me sick.

Thank God! some one understands! i feel the same way man it infuriates me that they put these animals through torture and some unknowledgible kid is going to buy it still and then the animal will die. So many pet stores, mainly the chain and big corporate ones get away with murder, literally. Some one HAS to do something, its terrible what these monsters are doing to these poor innocent animals!

It's very saddening to see all these animals just getting so incredibly starved and dehydrated. I wish something could be done but they are "temporary" homes. One veiled only lasted a day at the local petsmart before it died. It was blackish one day, and the next I had to alert the manager that he was dead when I got there. I told her she should have listened to my guide. She actually looked pretty upset.

Hubby says yesterday the jacksons was gone. Im betting 99.9% that it died.

My Female cham from petsmart(clair)
when i asked petsmart didnt know the gender of my new pet. )i know its a girl however, no spur)she has been digging around so i supose she may need to lay eggs. im going to get her sand 2mrrow. iv owned lizzards(iguanas) before but they were pritty easy and hardy to care for. i want clair to be happy and healthy. i dont even know how old she is. they told me a year but im sorta thinking thats now true. please tell me how much she should be fed from her size and mabey her age. i would greatly apperciate any advise. it seems super hard to get any on these subjects and i really love the little girl. shes a tad stressed out and has usually been green with a little bit of white. iv had her only a few days and this is my first cham. thanks for anything!-roo
