My Pygmies Arrived!!!

I'm housing them in planted vivaria similar to what I keep my dart frogs in. My plan was to end up with two males and four females and split them into trios. You can't keep males together in the size vivaria I have. Now that I have four males  one female and a female Spectral, I've had to split them up into several vivaria. Fortunately, I had several former froglet grow-out setups that I have been using to grow extra tropical plants that are basically 20-gal long aquariums already set up with lighting and ventilation.

Good to know. I haven't done much research on pygmies. LLLReptile has this great deal on an almost complete setup. Only $100. Is this sufficient or too much for 2-3 males? http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/animals/chameleons/-/65-gallon-chameleon-package/

And is all screen enclosure okay for pymies? What is recommended for housing these little guys.

Great looking group you got there! May i ask where you ordered them from? I put in my order today for a pair from LLL and cant wait for them to come. I was told i will be getting a 1.1 pair. Hopefully i do get a male. im still jelous of your pygmy group

My established male Skrat has had his best suit on since he's had a girl to court.

I Love Pygmies!

Man I m so jealous... hard to find a good group of em ! Good Luck ! Post more pics man!!!

Since I ended up with so few females, I ordered three females from another vendor and they just arrived looking all fat and happy. And, this time they got the sexing right. I was much happier with the condition of the second batch so if you want to know where to pick some up, send me a PM.

Thanks for the ID.

No problem. You'll need to house her a bit cooler than the brevi's by the way. Nchisiensis is a montane species. A light bulb is probably sufficient, since they won't tolerate high temperatures.
It's a great species to work with though. Their camouflage is amazing... Put some pieces of bark and a layer of dead leaves in her tank, and you'll see :)

I really appreciate the advice. The viv I placed her in is between 69 and 73F year round. How does that sound?

I really do like her and I hope she does well. When they arrived, her eyes were closed, so I flushed them with some saline solution and she opened them up after a couple of minutes. Then she drank and drank. She was also very dark and had a low posture. Since she's settled in, she is a lighter brown/green color and she's perching comfortably on a small begonia stem.

Here are a few more pictures of Skrat and two of his new ladies. Also, the last shot shows the left side of the enclosure.
