My Research on Discovery Channel Canada

Hey Everyone,

Anyone in Canada should watch the TV show "Daily Planet" on Discovery Channel Canada on Tuesday September 9th from 7-11pm EST (provided a last minute scheduling change the day of doesn't push it back a day). My research on chameleon feeding is being highlighted in one of the segments. They came down and filmed my research and I over the summer for the show and it should have some very cool footage including high-speed feeding footage, etc. It also will give anyone who sees it a better idea of what it is I'm studying at the moment and why I've been so busy lately. Also, if any of you have the ability to film it, I would greatly appreciate it as well!!! Those of you who do get to see it, I'd love to hear your comments on how it was (and hopefully I don't sound too retarded).

Chris

Man wish I could get this.. Let us know when we can see it online. Congrats man... Sounds like some great recognition for our work.

Congrats Chris! I've been home three times in the last two months, so I won't be back in the motherland for a while. Wish I could see it.

Someone record it and post it for me please! Id love to see it,is it only in canada?

im sure you can ask them for a copy of the taping.. :)

pretty cool to be on discovery channel i bet

Congrats Chris! I hope I can see it. Unfortunately I can't record it. :(
For those who can't see it Chris, is there some way we/they can find out what you had to say??

Thanks everyone! They are sending me a DVD copy of the episode some time after it airs but who knows when that will come. I also will have temporary access to view the segment online through their website's backdoor but its not anything I can really provide for everyone to see. I'm pretty sure that a little bit after it airs they post it online on their website and you can watch it. I believe it is encrypted though such that only Canadian internet providers can access the videos... I guess if it made its way onto youtube people could see it but at this point, I'm not even going to get to see it until after the general Canadian public has. I'm just hoping they got the science right in their descriptions and I don't sound/look too ridiculous. I appreciate all the compliments from everyone though. Definitely let me know what you all think when you see it!

I get Discovery Channel, and I live in Canada. I'll see if I can record Daily Planet tomorrow, but I have a feeling I will still be at work when it comes on (I'm pacific time, so that's something like 3 or 4 hours earlier than eastern). My VCR is old /broken so you cant set a timer, have to be there to push records :( and I havent got 'round to setting up a PC/harddrive (there's no tivo thingy here). How the heck I'd get it off VCR tape and onto UTube I do not know! I think I got rid of my all in wonder card. Hm.

Sandra,

I actually made a mistake, the show is an hour long and it airs at 7pm and again at 11pm EST so that would be 4pm or 8pm pacific time. Definitely let me know if you are able to watch and what you think.

Chris

Thanks Jake. Unfortunately I'm not sure how the general community here in the US is going to get a chance to see it unless it ends up on youtube or something. I won't even get to see it until after it airs. I guess we'll see what happens.

Chris

I'm watching the tail end (4:45pm) of Daily Planet, and it seems to be all about underwater shipwrecks and the battle of the atlantic of the second world war.
:(
Good news is I bought a little PVR thingy for my computer on the way home from work today, so I'll try to get it set up before I go to school, just in case the next timeslot is the one we're hoping to see :)

Chris, I watched the show a few minutes ago and that was very very interesting. It's pretty funny how the Panther wouldn't cooperate for you LOL. Now we all know what you've been up to :D
