My Sambava catching some Rays.

The Sambava locale is one of my favorites and I had my boy outside for some sun tanning. I thought I would snap some photos while we were out. Their colors are so impressive, and everyday I am amazed. Indoor under the 6000k and the reptisun uvb his colors are almost pastel with orange and even some pinks. Outside in natural sun he gets the Sambava yellow and red. This guy is over 2 yrs old and his colors seem to still be maturing. This guy is one of my favs.

This is him at rest under the flourscent light. It is so crazy in the drastic differance in color. I am finally seeing this guy turn red and yellow. I also got a close up of his tail with pink in it and his normal pink color.

Ha,ha he looks so sweet chilling on there. I`m looking forward to taking Gizzy outdoors now that summer is approaching here. I hope she enjoys it as much as he does :)

Thank you very much. The natural sun seems to make him very happy. He was outside for several hours today. All week is going to be low to mid 80's, so I am going to let them all enjoy the nice weather. I always watch them like a hawk when they free range outside. I get paranoid, they will disappear fast or try to eat a wasp. I guess I am a paranoid parent.

Very pretty Sambava (if a boy can be "pretty"...) you got there! I love it when they soak up the sun - you can almost hear them say, "aaaahhhhhhh". :D

Geez you have one great looking guy. In that first pic he seems very content and happy. Is he the screameleon from vincent? If so I think I should buy myself one. His colors at rest and in the sun are plain amazing. Do you have a sambava clutch sired by him? What is he like fired up?

Scarlett, he rarely fires up, not even at other males or a mirror. This guy is very calm, he lets me pick him up and carry him around. In fact, this may make some angry, I actually put him on my shoulder and walk around the neighborhood with him. He seems to really love it. It must not be stressful to him because when I open his enclosure door he rushes out onto my arm and up onto my shoulder. Also, yes he is a Screameleon from Vincent. Vince warned me that this locale take up to 2 yrs to see reds and yellows, but it was well worth the wait. From you other question, yes I do have a clutch from him. 3 eggs are sweating right now, so they should be hatching any day.

I just snapped another photo of him an hour after lights out on my Bberry.
