I don't have photos of the adults as this is my first time hatching them, got eggs from a local breeder and should have 2 hatch out. This is the ones progress by this morning, it's hatching 2 days early. Likely to be out by later today! 21 day incubation period.
They look like something Dr. Seuss would draw.
Be careful out there on the back yard chicken forums those people make us look mellow. They'll cut ya to the bone.
I haven't joined any forums, my dad grew up in rural Alberta and when I was in preschool we hatched ducks. Not new to it at all, already figured out the person I bought the eggs from wasn't giving them enough vitamin E. Oh well, it's what to expect from a Kijiji ad lol.
How do you know they weren't getting enough vitamin E?
I have a lot to learn about chickens!
My friend just got 6 Rhode Island Reds to keep for the eggs.
I've always wanted to touch a silkie to see what they feel like!
