So not nearly as large as say a sulcata, lol? That sounds like a pretty nice size.

I am no tortoise expert but i have heard that sulcatas can get like 100 pounds so ya hermans are smaller than sulcata lol

Sulcatas can get up to 200+. My larget male is 160 and my largest female is 130. They were wild caught and have been in the states at least 30 years.

Can anyone tell me about how to hibernate (eastern) hermani's?

I have mine in a plastic bin with the top on and a few holes in it. THey are in shredded newspaper and on a shelf in my garage. They usually start scratching in March to get out. I check on them once a week to make sure the are alive and not losing any weight.
