My Trioceros Sternfeldi chams wont eat worms

So i bought very small hornworms last week, as I was told that those are some of the most nutritious worms to feed my pair. Neither of them touched them- they just stared at them for hours, and at times they looked interested, but nothing ever came of it. I really want to get them on a varied diet, but I'm apprehensive about buying more/ different kinds if they won't eat them. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on how to get them to try them???

I can't really say why they aren't eating them, some just don't. I can however say Hornworms aren't super nutritional, but decent. They are mostly water. More of a treat / varied diet thing. Like once a week or so.

If you want a really healthy worm, try Silkworms.

My jackson wouldn't eat them either. Did the same as yours look at it and pasted it on. Pissed me off!!!

I've been trying to get silkworms for them. As soon as I can get some that are small enough for my guys I'll definitely snatch them up! And if they wont eat those either, I'll give them to my friends bearded dragons

I've got two 9 week old rudis' I tried to give waxworms and they just stared and stared, don't know how to get them to eat worms. I tried mealworms too, they won't touch em

Have you tried flies? My little flapneck mostly gets stable- but she can handle a bluebottle - they are harder to find in Canada -

I cant find anywhere in our area that carries flies of any type...I'll go into my local guys tomorrow and see if maybe they can special order me some. What are the best types?

Stable and house are on the smaller side. Blue bottles are bigger but not crazy big.

If you trying to offer a varied diet, just try gutloading the crickets with different foods like mustard greens, carrots, fruit. It creates a varied diet, without having to change the crickets.

Hi Christina, if u find anywhere in ontario to order flies let me know please, all I can get are fruit flies and they're too tiny

I'll ask my guys tomorrow if they can get flies in. If this is the case, I'll let you know! :)

I ordered flightless fruit flies for all my babies and should have them by tomorrow. Also, super tiny pinheads (smaller than the ones I have already). Hopefully both will be successful!

why does no one ever answer any of my posts??

Sometimes it could simply be the time of day you posted your question. There is alot of members on this forum, and sometimes a post will get buried by other posts and treads. Most people might be at work or school at the time you post, or if posting late at night, I've heard most people like to sleep  at this time.

Blue bottle flies, and small 1 to 2 week old crickets are the way to go. Newly hatched mantis will get the tongues zappin to.
