My Veiled Chameleon won't eat crickets...

Hi,
I've got a healthy male veiled Chameleon about 6-8 months old. After cleaning out his enclosure today I discovered that he hasn't been eating the crickets as most of them had been left in the bottom. However, hes crazy for the locust, he eats them from my hands and the ones he hunts in his cage. Is it O.K for him not to eat crickets? I understand he should have a varied diet so is there anything else, apart from crickets and locust I can give him?

Any help appreciated...

my cham never use to eat crickets either, but now he loves them.

maybe your cham needs bigger ones, or smaller one?

I would try cockroaches.
Crickets are not prey that a chameleon would naturally encounter as they are primarily nocturnal.
Locust, on the other hand, are insects that would make up a large percentage of this animals diet in the wild.
Given the choice, he may just be choosing what "feels right"
It is important that you are gut loading your feeders with a good selection of safe vegetative matter* so that they are as nutritious as possible.

*dandelion
collard greens
kale
carrot
squash
sweet potato
etc.
