My veiled eats nothing but roaches and crickets

Ever since I got my chameleon a month ago she ate nothing but crickets. She loves to eat the crickets right out of my hand. I decided it was time for some more variety and got some roaches. She love roaches to but refuses to cup feed. She will eat the roaches if they are roaming around her cage but not if the are in a cup. She won't eat the roaches out of my hand though. Ever since I had her I tried cup feeding and hand feeding super worms, meal worms, and waxworms. She refuses to eat any of them. Is there anything to do or will she just not cup feed? Should I let her get more used to my hand? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

That's the beauty of chameleons. They each have their own personality. Some will never cup feed, while others have no problem doing so. It's kind of like how some will never allow you to handle them, and others will practically crawl all over you. If you want to attempt to add more variety, try letting your cham go without a food for a day, and then give her a different feeder. If that doesn't work, try 2 days without food. I've heard of chams going on a hunger strike for weeks, so a few days without food won't do any harm. If she is still a few months old, I wouldn't worry about the variety as long as you're properly gutloading and dusting the crickets and roaches.

I wish mine would only eat roaches! Crickets are noisy, smell bad and die quick.I would stick with roaches and throw some silk worms and horned worms in the mix when you can.

Trying to get 'Fella' my vieled to switch to roaches..

I also wish 'Fella' would eat Roaches we are now on day 7 of hunger strike since I switched his feeder, today I relented, and allowed him to fill up on his favourite stinky noisy crickets.

I raise my own crickets. Even with a room containing 200,000 of them, there is no smell unless they die. Not sure why they have such a bad rap.
