My Veiled's eye is closed.

I have never heard of Pet stores carrying it. you might want to call around.

Not Petsmart and those places dont seem to have it. I looked everywhere to try and find it at one of those stores.

I am not familiar with where you are but I would do like Julirs said and try a feed store or something for farm type animals. They will have it there. You can also use Paypal straight from a bank account at some online stores. Or even, most gas stations have those prepaid credit card things you give as gifts. There are no extra charges but at least you have access to the medicine your cham needs/deserves. Good luck!

As I said in my earlier post..

Local drugstores have it? Is this the same Terramycin as you're talking about?

You should never buy ANY animal that you can't afford to properly take care of.

At the time I bought it I could afford it... :( Unfortunate circumstances have popped up.. *sigh*

I guess we can't always have a perfect life, eh?

EDIT: The cheapest I could find... was about 70-80$, not including medicine. The vet I used to go to was about 30$ but he closed due to the "depression"..

Maybe you could give him to someone that could afford to give him proper medical treatment. This could be serious. Eye problems can be a sign of way more serious problems and he should really be seen by a vet. My daughter has a ton of chameleons and most times allot of hers die shortly after the eye problems......sometime even with vet attention.

I do understand what you're saying, but no one around here buys them. I actually tried giving him away a while back.. No one was interested. Trying to borrow some money from my parents for now. :\ Man I must look irresponsible. I guess you can't help it when you get sick yourself and have to pay for it.

Edit: Explanation for the sick thing, I had to get x-rays recently and medical bills started piling up. So I'm hoping something helps him out from here.

He never seems to be in any type of pain at all.. Just saw him rubbing his eye on a branch, I put saline solution in his eye and he opened it for a few seconds.

78 degrees before turning on the fogger, by the way.

YES!!!! HIS EYE IS OPEN! AHHHHH!!!!!! :D It's been open for about 3 minutes! Go saline solution and fogger!

Edit: It's not completely open - it's rounded, not a slit, just like.. hm.. o instead of the full O I guess it the best way I can describe it. It's a lot better. :) oO

Well I'm off for the night, feeling a bit sicker than usual. Thanks for the help. Will post updates tomorrow.

I would take him to the vet to get it checked out the first chance you get anyway. :) Night!

Don't worry, I will. :p He's doing better. His eye was closed again this morning but I put some saline solution in and turned on the fogger and it's wide open.

I have a feeling it was the humidity problems. The air has been dry for the past week or so. Now I just have to buy a new UVB holder.. forgot what they're called. But turns out the cord was torn up so I'll have to buy a completely new one.

HE JUST STARTED SHEDDING TODAY! I think the combination between the air being a bit dry and him shedding made his eye close up. My mom came over and started freaking out because she thought it was dead. :(
