My wife found a humming bird

THAT is awesome.
He's right thou. Let's put the bird to good use.

50$. :D

Good luck with the little one. You must be busy.

My grandmother, when she was alive, always saw hummingbirds. Unfortunately her fingers had thin skin and she got too close to one and the beak went through her finger (or so I was told by my exaggerative father)..

wow. If god for bid that man dies all those humming birds will die with him! That is a whole lotta humming birds to feed!

I remember when I was a kid my mom knew a lady that did rescue and every time we saw her at a bird mart or something she had a sign on her shirt that said "please dont hug" cause she had baby humming birds stuffed in her bra! lol!

Thanks, Now I can't stop thinking of Ryan wearing a bra.

Sorry everyone, I hadn't had time to post.

We fed it for a couple of days and moved it outside. We were hoping the parents would hear it chirp.

It did not make it , we came home and it had passed in its little basket. We could tell as it was starting to sleep a bit when it shouldn't have.

We did our best with it.

Sorry to hear this, but not suprised. They are very hard to keep fed

I took it to work on Friday and fed it every 5-10 min. It would let me know when it was hungry. I think the sugar water just wasn't enough. We tried giving it fruit flies and pin heads but it just didn't have any interest.

We could not find a bird rescue close enough to be of any help. My wife did a great job trying to save it and was really beat up about it. She cares so much about every little animal she comes across. She is almost an expert on hummingbirds now. :D

We did something similar last year with a baby wren. She lasted 3 weeks and then went downhill over night. We would take it in turns as to who would have it as it was being fed every 30 mins. I am still upset now, a year later. Tell your wife she did a great job. Very few people will take on the responsibility.
