Naomi's Deremensis

Congrats! I am so happy you were able to successfully hatch these guys out! Best of luck with raising them.

What a treat!!! Thanks for the pics! This species is really rad and it's exciting to see someone hatch some out.

I've heard many many horror stories about females dying while super gravid and the eggs turn out bad. I've seen firsthand so many Deremensis in California go to the wrong hands at petstores and reptile shows and all I had to offer was "Go to Chameleonforums.com, we can help you!"

I really should have said "Luis, Naomi, and Fabian can help you!";)

Absolutley STUNNING! They are like little blue diamonds.

Congratulations, hope to see more pictures as they grow;)

Wow. They ARE huge maybe the stillness of the adults is actually saving and transferring energy to the eggs. Short incubation too right? Wow I am super jealous...

wow. those little red dots are amazing. fresh out the egg too! congrats i love deremensis. hope to own one some day

Thank you all, so far so good. I have a larger home for them ready to more them (or most of them) in tomorrow. I still want to add some grass clippings and a few sticks on the dirt. They don't seem to want to climb on them but I want to cover up some of the bare dirt with ground littler. I have plants for them to climb on which they will do. They will become more mobile as they get older, but they aren't real climbers as panthers and veileds. They tend to hang out more toward the bottom of the forest rather then the tree tops of the trees.

Congrats BocaJan, I am getting a male/female pair of deremensis from Luis-T.R. Herp within the next week. I am always excited to hear success stories from keepers of this species. As you know information can be hard to come by. If you don't have it already pick up a copy of HerpNation Issue #3, Luis co-authored an excellent article on T.deremensis. I wish the best of luck with your new kids! Keep us posted on how thing are going and anything you learn from your experience with these little or should I say Giant Gems.

Best Regards.....Dave:)

You guys are killing me here. I had not really planned to keep any of the clutch of deremensis eggs I have cooking. I had also never seen baby deremensis. Oh well something else I will now be getting into.

laurie, i could think of no one better suited than you. Once you see the babies you will be swept off your feet :p a little birdie told me no one cares for their Chams better than you! Shouldn't your Gems be ready to take out of the oven pretty soon  ?

Regards......Dave
