Hi I have got a 4 week old yemenese veiled, and he has not yet ate, I am giving him pinhead crickets, also it gets cold at night and I was after some tips on how to keep it warm?
He also rubbed his eye on a leaf, is that anything to worry about.?

Well I only got him off the breeder today so I can't answer most of those questions. I just need to know how to make his custom made screen cage warm at night because it can hit in the 50'f here.

I'm not aware of any details to your setup so the only thing I can tell you is a ceramic heat emitter... I hits 50's in your house?

Hello,
it´s not good to have it that cold at night, i can barely believe a house being that cold inside.
I would see how to warm up the whole room instead of using a heat emitter.
Chameleons associate warmth with light so this may lead to him sitting in a very warm spot, not knowing how to escape it.
Don´t worry about him not eating at the very first day, he might just be to excited.
How about using drosophila or other flies? You may just leave them in the cage with him and watch from some distance.
It´s important that you don´t offer food with is longer than his mouth is broad, chameleons do not chew so he might get problems with swallowing.
Can you show us a few pictures of your cage?
Maybe he just doesn´t feel comfortable

Agreed, warming the room would be better. Also will stop old people freezing to death, ;)
Veileds can take a big drop in night temp, and can go as low as 50's, but no lower than 60 is recommended. Also, for a baby it's much better to be safe than sorry........
If you have done proper research for the setup and the temps are good in the day then you have little to worry about. Just turn your radiator on at night :)

Yeah sorry it gets to like 59 at times but mostly around 70 at night the temp I'm gettin in the day is 95 so I think I should be safe. So should I just try to Feed him again tomorrow? I'm sorry my camera is currently broken I am looking to replace it snd then il upload some. Thanks for the reassurance

Yes, i´d try again tomorrow. Be gentle and slow when trying to feed hin and don´t try to often or he´ll get scared and feeding will become even harder.
He´s still young and needs a lot of food so he should ne hungry soon which will make it easier for you

Okay so I totally thought with a temperature like that, that you were keeping him outside... So obviously yes the room needs to come up in temp and during the day it needs to come down... you said 95? Thats about 12 degrees higher than it needs to be in their basking spot... Mid 80s is perfects and at night a drop to 65 is totally okay...
