need advice on keeping veiled healthy

Thats probly #1 concern, no#2 is drowned insects (same deal) no#3 is drowned chameleons.

Every hour is excessive to extreme and clearly nonsense.
It is recycled continueously though, meaning contaiminents accumulate, as opposed to a sealed dripper container, where water drips through fresh and uncontaiminated and isnt re-used.

the spots seem to go away when i take him out,
so i figure hes just letting off exess heat, i moved the lamp up a bit and he dosnt seem to have as many as he usually does while basking,

so i should not have a bed??
what should i use a peice of carpet or something along those lines?
and yes i plan on picking up a flo tube this week/ a mister and a better light timer.
 
and he gets up when i usually get up.

lights on from 10am until 10pm daily
ill usually leeave the basking lite on for an extra hour just incase he wants to warm up for a bit before he knows he goin to sleep.
 
Note ** yes the UVB lite is inside the cage, but i picked up some mesh with a zipper that fits over the lite perfectly so hes not climbing on the bulb itsself
 
Does the fixture get hot? You should still take it out and make a basking site at the top for him. Why the red light? You can use a normal house bulb, 40-60 watts should be good. What do you mean a bed? They don't use beds.... They sleep on branches and in plants. Look at pictures of other members cages for ideas :)

You're chameleon is definately not two months old... It's casque is huge!
 
No bedding is best. Or just plain paper towels. Does he have a basking spot to sit under the UVB? It doesn't look like you have one which may be why he hangs upside down.

Also, did you bring the temp down? And for your crickets, feed them things like kale and collards and fruits like blueberries, apples, and oranges. It adds to his nutrition. Don't forget to dust! Have you gotten those yet?


EDIT: a normal house hold bulb creates just as much heat. And produces UVA which he needs. Make sure it's not a coil one though.
 
the only household bulbs i have are those stupid energy 1.2 watt peice of crap $100 lightbulbs
they do not get anywhere near warm,

yes the way his cage is right now, i have not seen him hanging off the cage at all

yes there is a basking spot for both lights
 
and yea i brought it down to 80 and all he did was sit there
so i brought it up to 85 and he goes back and forth between lights like he usually has done
 
Then stick with 85. If you can, I'd buy a normal colored light, it can be a household one or a lizard one. But the more light the better! Naturally they'd have a huge amount of light, so try to mimick the wild. Look at other members cages, they help a lot! Don't forget to buy two kinds of calcium one w/ and one w/o d3, and a mulivitamin. Without the calcium your chameleon may develop metabolic bone disease which can severly impair them and in extreme cases can cause death. It's esspecially important in young lizards, so get it soon!
 
yeah im going to go pick up more jungle vines and such, maybe even a tree stump thing aswell.

Sure, also I use the 1st, 3rd, and 5th on this site, but you probably cant buy from this site since you're in canada. However I'm sure you can find these online somewhere or in a store.

yes i have sticks that bend like an arch all the way from the bottom,
note ** all of the sticks are from my yard.
and all the plants are fake in there aswell,

and yeah i plan on usuing more jungle vines at the top of his cage more under the lights
 
and what do you mean you use the 1st 3rd and 5th?

Cool, just make sure the sticks you use (from outside) are clean and scrubbed with a mild bleach solution in a 1:10 ration of bleach to water and rinse well. Dont want any parasites to get in his cage! :)
