Hi I finished my cage but the holes are too big for me to let crickets loose . What do I do ? Should I put the crickets in the pot with the plant or on the floor after I figure a way to prevent them from escaping. Also any ideas on the drainage in my cage ? There is a bin underneath collecting from the one cut out ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353890411.524143.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353890421.564430.jpg

for the cricket situation i would just make a cup feeder to put the crickets it. you can search for it on here i believe the best one is called the sunny d death trap. as for drainage i would just leave off that plastic sheet on the bottom and let everything drain into the bin

Ok, but i read you shouldn't really feed using a cup and should let them hunt their food ? my (veiled) chameleon is probably only 2-3 months old.

Go ahead and cup feed the crickets - you can let him hunt for larger prey items that won't fit through the holes. When he's bigger and can handle the larger size get some hornworms, silkies, or superworms and then place them around the cage in different places so that he can hunt them.

I dont know where you read that you shouldnt cup feed, as almost all of us do.

The only time it becomes an issue, is wen they are cup fed for so long, they get lazy.

However, you can avoid this by making a sunny d death trap (search youtube, or here for cricket trap)

or you can get a plastic bin, about the size of a shoe box, and put it in the cage near his basking spot.
this will make it so the bugs cant get out, but your cham has to move around and sort of hunt them..
