There is no set age that a veiled chameleon will start reproducing...but once she is sexually mature I would make sure that there is an opaque container (minimum 12" x 12" x 8" wide) of washed playsand in her cage so she has a place to dig if/when she does produce eggs. They can become eggbound if they have no place to lay them.

I always wait until my veiled females are at least 1 year old before I breed them just to make sure they are finished their own growth. (BTW..once she is sexually mature you may push her into cycling/producing eggs if you show her to the female).

As for the age, some grow quicker than others so I can't give you an accurate guess of their ages.

As I already said...."once she is sexually mature you may push her into cycling/producing eggs if you show her to the female"...so they should not see each other at all IMHO once they are sexually mature unless you are trying to breed them.

The male won't get the splotches the female will get when he is sexually mature.

Also when the female is receptive she will also get bright bluish spots along with the mustardy splotches.
