I'm a first time Cham owner but I thoroughly researched them before buying and I've had my male and female veiled chams for about 2 weeks so I don't think it's mbd and I have a netted inclosure that I bought at pet co with the chameleons starter kit and I have both in the same inclosure for now till I get paid in another 2 days so I can separate them but they have not yet started to show signs of being territorial. I have two pothus plants in the cage at the top and one bamboo plant that I've had and just put in about 3 days ago. I feed them superworms with the pepticalcium daily so I'm not sure if that's the problem do to to much calcium but I'm not sure how much phosphorus are in the superworms So my main problem is my female! She is very weak and fatigued, I haven't seen her eat but I saw her licking the pothus plants yesterday. She always has her eyes closed and when climbing tries to grab things that are not there. My male is healthy and he don't mind eating off my hand but have never hand fed my female because she's to shy. Her poop is normal sometimes dark and others slight yellow lil white! I don't take em out or handle them because I don't wanna stress them out but the cage is about eye level it's never loud in my apartment and I have no dogs or cats! I recently had to move them from my girlfriends to my house because she neglecting to turn on the uvb lamp four about an extra 5 hours plus the 12 hours of night two times so I started to care for them and had to take em out but that was about the last time I handled them and that was 3 days ago. Just recently had time to start gutloading my superworms with mango, strawberries, raisin brand cereal, raspberries, apples etc. but she hasn't tried the new nutritious super worms so idk what the problem is? She doesn't have double elbow or bent joints but then again I'm no expert! I mist the cage about 2-3 times a day! I have problems with my male who is in the same enclosure and is 100 percent healthy. I caint see a vet for another 3 days and I'm planning on taking vacay if needed to help her recover! I'll post pics of the cage and male and female! She's in bad shape! She needs to see a vet ASAP!!! You need more feeders besides superworms no matter how much you gutload them, superworms are more of a treat. Now the female, she looks dehydrated and thin. Its possible that male is stressing her out and possibly eating all the food or a bigger underlying problem is going on, you really need to separate them asap just in case it's bacteria/virus. You really need to get her to a vet asap. Hopefully others will chime in and help. Best of luck!

I don't want to be harsh but I don't think she has 2-3 days to wait for a vet, I'm not sure she will last 24 hrs without immediate medical attention! Do you already have an appointment set up for her with a vet who has cham experience??
I am wondering what your definition "thoroughly researched" is, if you thought keeping them together, only feeding superworms, and having no backup $ for at least 3 weeks was going to be ok???

Well when I looked it up it said the young ones can be together until about 4 months of age and they were like 8 of em in the tank at pet co so I didn't think if I left them together for another two weeks would matter and I even talked to the breeder and said it was cool. I made an appointment but he won't be able to see me till Thursday morning and he's the only reptile vet in Corpus Christi Texas. I had try to buy small krickets that they could swallow but the pet co here has been out recently and I work graveyards so I haven't had time in the past week to go check if they had any yet. So I kinda screwd myself in that. I have my femal in her own lil nursery right now just in case she has a virus or parasites

That sick "Female" is a male and you shouldn't listen to the advice from Pet Co, you could go online and order feeders. You need to fill out the help form! I'm sure we all would like to know lights/cal/vit and set up.
Is there a spur on the heels of both chameleons? The one that is healthy might be female.
To feed the sick one...try betting it to drink by dripping water on the end of its nose at the rate of one or two drips per second then as its mouth is opening and shutting, slip a cricket head first into the mouth so the chameleon bites it. It's better for the chameleon than having to force feed it. You can also try putting a drop of pureed baby food fruit like apricots on its lip so it will lick it up. Just be careful that you do it a little at a time.

Thanks I just got home and y'all are right my sick Cham is the male and the heathy one is my female! I'm about to go pull a loan out my bank because I caint wait two days for my pay for my lil dude! But I still caint see a vet till Thursday So I'm gonna buy him his own cage but since he's still a young Cham and a male what size dimension would you recommend for my lil dude? And I'll fill out the forum and take more pics but he's moving very little and one eye is closed. Might be an infection do to lack of nutrition so should I give him vitamin A?
I use the vitamin once a week and the calcium everyday but I herd I should use it every other day then read to use it every other week so I wasn't sure of myself so I used it every feeding because I would do the same for my water dragon and bearded dragon and they been ok for the last 6 to 5 years. I know the first year is critical for their bone growth so I was worried about giving him to little and the phosphorus rate being to high but again I'm just not familiar with chams that's why I got veiled because of how hearty they can be

Calcium every feeding, Calcium with D3 twice a month, vitamins twice a month. You're not heating the cage at night are you? What type of lights are you using? Why are you just feeding them superworms?
