Need help with gravid female

well my female chameleon is showing signs that she is gravid. she has stopped eating and is moving about her cage looking for a place to lay her infertile eggs. i have put a pot in there big enough for her to dig a foot deep hole. my question is when will she lay these eggs? she has not eaten for 2 days and im starting to get worried.

What species?
My veiled goes off food for a week before laying. She has actually gone longer, but a week seems average for her.
Is the medium in the bucket moist enough to hold the shape of a tunnel?
Have you covered the sides of the enclosure so that it feels private to her?
Two things I do once she has gone off food.

Agreed! lol my vieled is going on 2 1/2 weeks, i did force feed her 1 cricket with reptivite, and one silk worm, but she has been digging just not laying eggs. Trust me it will be very stressful the first time lol but just try and not bother her so she doesnt abandon her hole and become egg bound, it wont last more than a month

so my female veiled could go a month without eating? ill try to get a pic of her so i can be sure she has eggs.

click on post reply. Then, go down in the next section and look for manage attachments. When you click on that you can download (or upload, I get them confused) your pic either from a file or from a website if you use a picture place like Webshots or Photobucket.

okay let me see if this pic loaded.

I wouldn't necessarily take that as a complete indication, I was only speaking because his DID have the blue spots. I don't own a veiled let alone a female veiled so I am not speaking from experience only from reading about it on the forums. I know that blue spots are ONE of the indications of a gravid female but I do not know if they are ALWAYS an indication, you should do some more looking around to see if it is definite but I certainly would not disregard the possibility of her needing to lay because she lacks blue spots.

my bad, was thinking about receptive, not gravid

I dont know any signs of being gravid, just the whole, blue dots = receptive and that when they have eggs in them, sometimes you see bumps in there stomach, and in the front of the back legs... if anyone knows signs of GRAVID Then please share, theres many of us that would like to know. :)

When in the presence of a male a female veiled will have an almost black background when gravid or non-receptive. A panther female will be a deep chocolate brown with bright peachy splotches generally when gravid or non-receptive.

They can even show those colors when the male is not around and they are gravid/non-receptive.

haha thanks for stealing the thread goggleznvincent haha jk. but she was a bit fired up in those picks because of the camera. she has gotten fatter though lately
