Ok so I bought sheffelara plants and watered them to much and they died.I bought all new plants.I put river rocks the bottom of the pots for good drainage and moved my drip systems so they wouldn't drip into the plants.I mist heavy three times a day and that's the only water going into the plants ...now they are doing the same thing as before.leaves are turning brown and falling off.I stuck my finger as far as I could into thedirt to see if it wasto wet but it just seems moist not soaked.can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong please.thanks in advance

I don't know about those plants but it may be some of these things.
  • Basking lamp temp too hot for plant
  • Not the right humidity for the plant itself
  • Chemicals from tap water (unless using distilled for misting/watering)

Hope someone else can help you.

Watering requirements for this houseplant are pretty much the same as many other common houseplants. Allow the soil to dry in between watering; however do not allow it to stay dry for long periods of time. On the opposite end, do not allow the plant to sit in water either, so be sure to allow proper drainage. If the foliage begins to drop and turn black in color, you are overwatering or do not have proper drainage in place. If the foliage tips begin to curl or wrinkle, you are probably under watering the plant.

maybe try to put plastic over the top of pot to stop water from draining into plant?

That's what I don't understand ....I'm not watering just misting ...so its enough water I think.hell I don't know..guess its a trial and error type of thing till I figure it out
