Need some c&c on my setup....pics and also a few questions

i think im going to add another schefflera and my mom told me she has a spare humidafier, so ill do that too. if it still remains low, i might add a pothos. i just dont want his cage being crammed with plants...

You still want to be able to enjoy them. :D Once you get to two or 3 plants there isn't much more you can do. The Humidifier should work well. Make sure it is cool mist not warm.

Make sure the clean the humidifier often! They can get gross and bacteria-ey, which is bad...

Very Good Point!

so i added another umbrella plant and have a humidifier running all day next to the cage, but the humidity still manages to drop all the way into the 20s. the whole bottom of the cage is almost completely filled with branches and leaves from my plants and its still getting really dry. the cage is also in a corner, so i wrapped the back two sides with plastic drop cloth to try to keep the humidity in, and still no luck.

and is 90f basking temp too hot for my guy? hes about 7-8 inches in length from nose to tip of tail and when i switch to the next lowest watt bulb it goes to 80f. i cant find a medium, should i go with the 80 or 90 bulb? keep in mind whenever i do mist, the temp drops 5-10 degrees until the humidity goes back down.

edit: another question i have is, is it overkill to have two 24" uvb tube lights at once? i picked up two 24" uvb 5.0 bulbs at petco on clearance for $3 a piece and would think that the extra light would be awesome, but if its not necessary ill just rock one along with an aquarium bulb and use the other in 6 months....

If he's younger than 6-7 months than 90 is too hot. Anything younger than 6-7 months 80 is perfect. Sorry I didn't answer according to His age... I didn't feel like going back to read all the info...

ok cool, but what about when hes 8 months? then do i just switch to the 90f bulb? is there a way for me to gradually increase the temp? is 90f good for an adult?

and any suggestions about my humidity problem or the uvb lights?

well i filled out this questionaire to see if maybe i would get more responses. im still having no luck getting the ambient humidity up to par. im probably going to make a diy mister kit seeing that nothing else ive tried has worked, but my guy doesnt like being sprayed as it is. would increased misting possibly stress him out too much?

after looking around some it seems that one 24" uvb will be good, so im just gonna put an 24" aquarium tube with one uvb.

would it be ok to feed him more than i am now? like 12 crickets a day? ive heard that overfeeding can possibly lead to mbd, but as long as i use suppliments why would he have any problems?
