I noticed something hanging out near the base of my chameleons tail.
Any ideas?

Prolapse? I can't see the photo very well. You need to put some KY jelly on it and keep it moist and get to a qualified cham vet pronto.

Thats what I was thinking as well. Doesn't look like a sperm plug. Do as Kenya said. KY Jelly and a vet trip asap.

Can you get a better clearer photo?

sugar water paste applied to it, followed by a thorough soaking in 2" of sugar water, then a rinse.

what color is it? most prolapses look red and bulbus, kindaof, with lots of veins. essentailly the intestine hanging out. that looks white maybe?( shed?) i cant really tell enlarge the picture.

after a long close inspection, it looks like two small black curls @ the vent?


are those his hemipens?all dried up? after not being able to return inside, if this is the case , you will need to go to the vet and have them amputated.

Yeah if they've been outside the vent for very long without any moisture they need to be checked out.

Take him to the vet asap! I am sure some local FL members can recommend a vet in your area.

Try and get us a better, closer, well lit picture.

Yes a buddy of mine told me it was a sperm plug and that it would come out on its own. It did just that.
