BugCatcher

I have a female veiled in my care who I picked up from a local wholesale reptile facility a few weeks back. Since getting her she has not eaten on her own that I have seen. I have however been force feeding. I believe she had URI when I picked her up and have been treating with Baytril as well as giving liquid calcium.

Yesterday when I opened her mouth it was full of foam and it did this for a few minutes. I rinsed her mouth out and she ended up eating a couple of crickets. I believe her to have an eye infection as well, as her eyes are bulging a bit. Any ideas?

Another recently aquired female veiled I have had in my care for about a week now is constantly very dark brown almost black. She acts fine and eats and drinks well just always very dark. Ideas?

Thanks and Happy New Year

Please post some photos....and I would say take her to a vet so you can get proper treatment for her.

If they are sexually mature you should have a place in the cage for them to dig in case they need to lay eggs.

I will get a couple if pics of them tonight. No ideas on the foaming on the one or constantly dark color of the other?
All of my girls have laying bins in their enclosures.

The one female that is constantly dark has shown non receptive colors when I showed one of my males to her, but this was over a week ago at this point. I took a picture but honestly it has to be the worst one I have ever taken lol. Atleast you can get the idea and see the color I am talking about.

The second pic is of the female who had been foaming from her mouth the other night. She hissed at me and gaped tonight when I stuck my hand in the enclosure and everything looked good inside there. I suppose the Baytril is doing its job.
