Need suggestions on where to live!

Noo no no, not Miami. I lived there 12 years and it's not a fun place to live. I'm hispanic, but the amount of angry Latin testosterone is ridiculous when you're driving anywhere, it's a miracle if anyone lets you get into the lane your need during rush hour. It has it's nice points, like nice areas to shop and beaches, but I found it too big, too angry, and too expensive. Maybe at least not Miami proper, I lived essentially in downtown.

I LOVED the Sarasota/Tampa area though. It had all the nice points of Miami but without the mass.

That is true. Miami has the biggest idiots driving around, so you would many cases of road rage. I live 40 miles north of miami in broward county. It's much better. Anywhere in South Florida is awesome :)

oregon dude!!! we have all that and seeing you want liberal then this is the state for you. alot of good paying jobs and what not hear and no were on the planet beats our summers and i know cause i've been all over the world and when i retired i decided to move back cause of it. also there is sooo much to do and most big cities are only about 45 minutes from the coast. plus you dont' have to worry about jumping into our rivers or lake and get bitten by something poisonous. and its not that smoggy at all up in portland. i lived in colorado and i never found denver smoggy. plus its home to the ducks and no sales tax so thats a plus for you.

I agree with jannb, marathon is beautiful! Florida is great but I'd avoid Orlando Or Miami, they're both in the top ten in the nation for unemployment lol. I'll be moving back down to fl myself once I get my bio degree finished up here in ct.
