needing help

So my chameleon spent his first few nights on the bottom of his cage. When i fed him all went well. But when i got him more horizontals and greenery he migrated to the top. Which is good. But now he won't eat. The crickets jump to the bottom and he won't go down to eat them? They just stay down there. He will eat the few i get to stay on his branch but that's it?!?! Worried because he was already malnourished when we got him. I don't want him getting any skinnier

He looks better since I posted this one. I've added to the cage... He has little nubs on his blackfeet too.

You could do a feeding cup. I take a 1/2 gallon milk jug and cut out the front leaving a few inches of "cup" at the bottom with a tall back. Rough up the inside back a lot with a knife or you can attach patio screen to it for the crickets to climb. Then I hang it in my cage using a paper clip as a hook. Most should stay in there if they have the screen to climb or you can remove their back legs to get them to stay in the cup. I always hang it in the same spot about halfway up so he always knows where it's at.

Or I've just used a solo cup before. It's too tall for the crickets to jump out usually.

Here's a version of it using a solo. This was just used for a few days. It's better to not have them be clear so that your Cham doesn't try to strike the feeder from the outside. I like the milk jug better. You also want to leave some space around the screen part smooth so that they can't just climb out. This is also a great way to make dubia more visible to your Cham because they climb up the screen too.

My house sitter is going to take a pic of the milk jug version when she gets back to my house a little later and then I'll post that for you.

This one is in my rehab chams "hospital cage". It's attached with a magnet. The one in my screen cage has a paper clip hook at the top. Although I'm probably going to start using a magnet for it soon as well.

@Peachypink okay awesome!!! i got home and my cham was hunting at the bottom so hopefully it was just stress due to moving but if not. Definitely will rig up on of these

@NicBarta on this forum makes awesome feeder cups that are magnetic here's a pic of mine. If your Cham needs to put on weight this will make easy access 24/7 and he will figure out that his food is there and just know where to go when he's hungry!

I use this for the feeder cup also for plants . It has wholes in bottom so I just tap it .

Same concept as what I do, his are just fancier and match the decor. I want one soon...lol
