neelix in the garden

Decided to put my veiled outside to enjoy some rare uk sunshine. So I took his umbrella plant, put it on the lawn & put neelix on top of it. Could I get him to stay there? No, he prefers to explore the lawn. Which is fine unless I turn around for a moment & lose him in a sea of green. Then the cat realised there was something interesting in the grass & I spent the nxt 5 mins pulling wrestling moves on him to protect neelix...anyway boyfriend came to the rescue & shut puss indoors. We're now off to buy a large ficus & a screened cage to make his outside adventures more secure. Should I set this up with a dripper if I only intend to keep him in there an hour or so?

For an hour or so in UK weather would be fine. I would just keep a mister around and offer mistings whenever the temps creep up.

Cool :) here's a couple of pictures of his new sun-bathing enclosure. It's a bit taller than his indoor cage. He's gone a nice bright green so I think that means he likes it.

That looks really good! Be careful with the ficus outside coz I manage to destroy mine within 1 day of being outside, where did you get your cage from???

If your outdoor cage is taller than your inside cage, you may want to consider swapping them out. Give your cham the best enclosure that he will spend the most time in. I was not sure if both cages had the same width or not either. Just my 2 cents...

I just noticed this outdoor cage was the type with a nylon type screen. That one is best for your outdoor cage.

We considered the screen cage as his main cage, but we couldn't make it practical (I think my cat might rip it, among other things) so we got a glass exo-terra. His current one is 90cm tall & is much wider than the screened. The screened 1 is 20cm taller.

We got the screened from a local reptile centre. Maybe we'll bring in the ficus tonight lol
