New Baby Ambilobe

Hello everyone!
Yesterday I brought home my first chameleon, a 4 months old Panther Ambilobe. He hasn't eaten yet. I put a few crickets in a plastic container as my breeder recommended and the baby saw them but didn't show any interest in them....
Is he still adjusting to the new environment? Can I do something to make him eat?
Thanks for your help!

Welcome! They can take up to a week to eat while they are settling in, but make sure the crickets aren't too big or he may not want to try and eat them.

the crickets are medium size. Should I keep on keeping them in the container until he eats them or is it better to let them free in the cage?

You can let them free, but you have to collect them at night and re-gutload and re-dust them.

it is not going to be an easy task to collect them because I put several plants in the cage, so is it better to leave them in the container?
I really appreciate your help.

congrats on your new arrival. It can take time for him to settle in and he may not eat during this time. Once he is settled in or hungry enough he will eat. If you can try to keep them in a small container in the cage for him to capture from that will make it easier for you to pick them up if there still left in the evening!

It depends. I find my chameleons like feeding out of containers when they are large and are under a favorite basking spot. They also have to be opaque and not clear.

Im sure hell start when he gets hungry enough just keep watching him and if has been awhile then youll need to start thinking about how to get him to eat. Onces he gets a little more at home try hand feeding. some new chams take awhile like up to a couple of minutes and some will take a couple of trys but just keep at it and hell be eating out of your hand even if hes not hungry :)
