New baby sleeps during the day

Man I wish I would have found that one before buying the expensive flukers dome that does the same damn thing  Im really glad to see a chameleon owner as readily changing as you are... Its a delight to see someone taking the initiative to change and get their cham better... Even though I've been here for a short time I have seen people who literally let their chams die without making a single suggested change (Seniors may remember a recent one) But you are doing everything to better your chams life and I thought I would just let you know you are a breath of fresh air

That makes me feel really good, thank you

You want the branches low enough he cant climb out, you want it humid not stale. No lid = better ventilation ;)

I keep stressing the temp and basking light because the tank can hold in heat real well. Try and get that light down to 78 if possible.

I took the heat lamp off because I couldn't get the temps low enough with it on. Under the UVB light is is around 78 degrees though. On the bottom of the cage is is around 75 degrees. At night it gets a tad cooler, does this sound ok? The place that I got him from was setup up similar to mine and they are thriving in there.

Hello,
how´s the temperature at night? Which kind of jacksonii is it in particular?
I´m not an jacksonii-expert, but thes need pretty low temperature at night.
Maybe he´s not abled to sleep at night due to high temperature.

Sounds good! He will appreciate the night time temp drop. If he can cool 10-12 degrees at night is optimal.

But don´t overdo it. Try to leave him alone as much as possible.
Does he still eat?

I'm not planning on handling him or bothering him. I just can't wait to see if he is sleeping or not :)

I haven't seen him eat since I moved him to the new aquarium setup but I just moved him yesterday. I figure he needs to get used to the new cage before he eats.

Hello,
yes i´d say so, too.
Besides i never heard of anybody moving his cham to an aquarium, but i guess that´s one of the things you guys do differently ;)
Hope he´ll be alright

I will be waiting for an update!

I got home to a small disaster in his cage... My dripper went haywire and overdripped (my fault, I know) and his cage was flooded! I had to take him out and clean it. BUT, when I put him back in I was him eat a fly so I guess he wasn't too u0pset over the ordeal. I also saw him eat a fly today. BUT, I don't think he is drinking very well because the urate in his poop was a yellow orange color. Any tips for getting him to drink more? I spray him about 2 - 3 times a day.

So I was reading another post on a baby that closed his eyes during the day. The problem it seems with that one was that the UVB light was too close to him and bothering his eyes. I thought this could be the case with mine so temporarily I lifted his UVB light up a few inches using 2 bricks. If this is the problem I will think of a more permanent way to lift the light.

When you mist get every thing dripping, also mist the sides of the tank so it has water drops on them.
Eating is a good sign!

I have heard of some young chameleons being sensitive to the uv but never experienced it myself.

I am not going to use the dripper unless I am home now :)
I have been misting the plants and the sides of the tank, I'm trying my best not to spray him directly - as he does not like this!

I don't know if he is sensitive to the light but it can't hurt to try moving it up a bit!

Lol yea at that age they usually dislike getting wet, but when he gets older he will love it!

Has he improved?

I'm not sure if he has improved, I saw him sleeping yeterday, when I saw that I lifted his UVB bulb a few inches. He is still active and eats, I haven't seen him drinking lately though. I think I need to stop over worrying and let him be!
