Hello forum, today has been a blessed day for my,
i have brought home my first chameleon
And i want to introduce him to you:)
He was born september 7th
he is about 4 inches long
and i dont know witch name to choose(Kermit or Steamer)
zzzcham.jpg

Now i would just like to check over somthing things to see if im all good,
I have him in a 100gallon tank( Exo terra felxarium)
basking temp81-85f depends on my rooms temp
misting 4-5 times aday
Live ficus plant

The lady i bought him from told me to use this supplement schedual

rep-cal WITH d3 and multivitam (i forgot how many times)
( i find it weird that theres no regular calsium?
and lights on from 9am-9pm

On his first day home he did a bit of exploreing a drank a tiny bit,
and didnt eat anything ( i offered 10 crickets)
does that sound like a ragular first day home?

do you have a uvb light along with the basking light? yes, you need regular calcium. Use that one at every feeding and alternate the calcium with d3 and the multivitamin so each one gets used twice a amonth. It is not unusual for a chameleon to not eat right away when put in a new environment. some do, some don't.

From what I have read, you give him calcium only at every feeding, calcium w/d3 once a week and multivitamin once or twice a month, you need to gutload his crickets as well. You also need to have a constant dripping water source over the leaves so he can drink from. As far as the tank, a screened cage is better for open ventilation and to reduce the accumulation if bacteria and mold.

I have heard this as well,
but the breeder i picked him up from was supplementing him this way and she has alot of very healthy chams,
and my "tank" is a exo terra felxarium( all wire mesh screen)

my cricket gutload consists of carrot apple orenge and romain
i will change it up from week to week

Wow he looks cool:DWhat locale is he?

I go with what most do. Gutload your crickets very well. I use cricket crack. Calcium without D3 every feeding. Calcium with D3 every other week and multivitamin every other week. You could alternate between D3 and the vitamins so you remember what you're supposed to give that week.

He is a good looking guy.

Yeah he doesnt try and bite me or puff out or anything just run's pretty quick:p do you know any ticks to start them cup feeding?
he didnt eat anything today,
and i want to teach him,

He may not eat for a few days. He just needs a little time to get used to his new home. I would wait to start trying to cup feed him until he start eatting.

When I first got my nosy faly a few people recommended that I leave him alone (except for when you drop his crickets in) for the first week when I brought him home so he can adjust to his new habitat.
