since she's obviously too small for this cage, is a feeding bin necessary?

any comments concerns questions?

is my 75 watt too small for this huge cage?

i hit post on accident, the vid will be up soon i'll update u guys

I don't think the cage is too big at all. What do you have in there with all the dead leaves?. Is that tree brances with the leaves that have died? you also need to clean up those branches. All those small prickly branches could poke your chameleon and possibly injure him. I would get a live plant in there with lots of leaves so your chameleon has somewhere to hide and feel secure. What do you have in the bottom of the cage? What type of UVB light do you have?

the leaves are little berries that fell off not branches
as far as leaves go she has two fake plants
i set it all up today in abotu an hour and im not done im open to suggestions

bottom cage contains several plant life, my laying bin is non-existant but thats my current priority, along with sand for it
my plant life consists of life plants and plastic plants, some very light substrate to keep the plants moist (about 1/4 inch of substrate)
some wheat grass so the crickets eat it and not her

Those branches need to be cleaned off. The branches should not have any dead leaves, berries etc. Just plain branches! No substrate on bottom of the cage. Breeding area for bacteria! Get a live plant like an shefflera aboricola, or a ficus. No grass, feed your crickets out of the cage. If your cham does not eat the crickets, remove them.

i use my old cage as my cricket keeper. theyre not in there. what i mean is if i were to accidentally miss one it wouldnt do anything.

and the berries were just put there, theyre edible to my cham and she enjoys them. i cleaned them very well

how do you know the berries are not poisonous? Do you understand what I am telling you about the branches. You have all DEAD leaves on them. You cut the branches off the tree and leaves are dead. You need to remove all of them and put the branches back in the cage and cut all those little branches sticking out that could poke your chameleon in the eye or something.

we've eaten them as children for a while now. they are harmless.
and there are no leaves on the branches that i know of

how do you know they will not be harmless to your chameleon? The branches that are in your cage, what are those yellowish looking things hanging that look dead, are those NOT leaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???? Also remove the dirt from the bottom of your cage!!!!
I am curious, how old are you anyways???

eh, where what leaves lol, i don't understand what you mean, i dont see any leaves. if there are any leaves then they are fake. i have some plant life at the very bottom of the cage, and it's very alive
i'm 27

live plans

what species of plants do you have...many are poisionus...look at list for what are acceptalbe as foilage..

wow I guess I am seeing things then. Those dark branches that are in the cage, what is hanging on them? They look shriveled up? So you are saying all that is fake then?. Those branches were not cut off a tree? It just looks to me like branches that were cut off a tree and after a few hours all the leaves start to wilt. I guess I need better glasses.

probably plants behind it making it look like its from the branches i assure you i don't cut branches with leaves because they go bad very quick.

ok, your video is very decieving then! You do need more foilage in the there though and you do not want that dirt in the bottom of the cage. It may cause problems if your chameleon eats it! Leave the cage floor bare.

I thought those were dying leaves also. So wtf is that all over your branches>? Not the big obvious leaves theres clusters of small what looks to be dying leaves to us

I just got my newest cage intoday too =] tahnx lllreptiles ^^ Finally my Chameleons can get some peace and alone time XD

dont look like leaves to me but berries that arent ripe yet. what kind of berry is that? understand a veiled chameleon will try out just about everything in your cage at one time or another. the berries may be ok for human consumption but not ok to chameleons.

its pretty much like this...humans can eat grapes.. i have a dog that loves grapes. grapes lead to organ failure in dogs. so although she may like them they may be harmful to her.

also you will need to change your uvb bulb out for a linear tube. whats your basking/ambient temps? dusting schedule? gutload? misting schedule?

carol is trying to give you good advice for you to be able to enjoy your chameleon for a long period of time. she is not new to chameleons...many things can go wrong in husbandry and can result in a short life with your chameleon. things that may look awesome to us, may be harmful to your pet.
