Well here's the new cage for my baby veiled. I still haven't decided on a name yet, so I've just been calling her "The Baby" until I pick something better.

Cage Info:
* Cage Type - Screen cage, dimensions are 18x12x30.
* Lighting - Reptisun 5.0 linear UVB bulb and 60 watt incandescent household bulb. Lights come on at 7:30am and go off at 7:30pm.
* Temperature - Cage floor is 75, basking spot is 85-90 degrees. I have a couple cheapo thermometers and that I can move around.
* Humidity - Anywhere from 50%-75%. I have a dripper set up and I mist the cage as often as possible. I have a cheapo humidity cage that I can move around. Looking into purchasing a mistking for my cages because I feel like the humidity is always low.
* Plants - 2 live hibiscus and a small umbrella, the rest are fake.
* Placement - Cage is in my bedroom. There's a fan in the opposite corner of the room that I only run at night and the vent is about 8 ft in front of the cage. It's a low traffic area and the top of the cage is 5 1/2 ft from the floor.
* Location - Pittsburgh, PA

Chameleon Info:
* Your Chameleon - Female Veiled Chameleon about 3 months old. I've had her for 2 months.
* Handling - I don't handle her very often. She runs and hides from me, so I try not to stress her out.
* Feeding - She eats little crickets. I give her between 5 and 10 and she usually eats them all. I gut load with Fluker's Cricket Quencher with calcium and Zilla Gut Load.
* Supplements - I dust the crickets with plain calcium everyday and Rep-Cal Calcium with D3 once a month and Herpivite once a month.
* Watering - I mist the cage and I have a dripper. I see her drinking water off the leaves from the dripper.
* Fecal Description - Looks normal. Brown with white urates. She hasn't been tested for parasites.
* History - Nothing I can think of.
* Current Problem - How does my cage look?

Your cage looks great!!! I dont think she needs to have calcium everyday. A couple times a week should do it since you are also giving your crickets calcium. She looks great by the way it appears that you are doing a great job raising her so far:D

your cage is very very nice!!! is the red cup in the lower corner your feeding cup:confused: If it is how did you get your cham to eat out of a red cup? Mine wont come any where near anything red its weird. If I have a red shirt on or he will stay back in the corner in the "im going to karate chop you" stance :p

You should probably gutload your crickets with fresh greens, carrots, and oranges to make them a little bit more healthy for your cham.

That basking temp is too hot for a baby, it should be around 80-85 max. Also make sure that the cage has time to dry out between each misting. You can buy a thermometer/hydrometer at lowes or home depot for 15, it will help you determine if you really do need to mist that much and if your temps really are too high.

The feeding cup should probably be moved up higher under a perch for her too.

Other than that, everything looks good.

Nice setup -- I like all the plant cover you have. I would move the feeding cup a bit higher. Maybe attach it to that lower branch? You could pierce the side and attach it with a zip tie or twist tie. Also, though it's not a big deal now, be sure that top vine is strong enough to hold her when she's big! Otherwise I think it's great.

About the red cup, I think because I always bring my chams their food in those red cups, they now associate them with food. Neither are afraid of red. I can move the cup up, that's just where I happened to put it. She's been eating out of it though, so I didn't think it was a big deal to have it there. They might also be used to red because my whole room is red, red bedspread, red curtains, red lamp. I was actually going to look for some green cups because the red kinda stands out as something that doesn't look natural lol and green would blend in better.

I was giving fresh fruit and veggies to my crickets, but I haven't been to the grocery store in a couple of weeks, so I haven't given them any lately. I'll pick up some more next time I go grocery shopping but I kinda ran out of money :p

The cage definitely dries out in between mistings. If the basking spot is too hot, I can always move the vine down a little and trim the top of the plant there so she's not as close to the light. I'll move the thermometer down a little and see how low it is where it's 80-85. The other thing is that I turn up the heat and close my door when I'm home because I'm always cold, so during the week when I'm at work all day and the heat isn't running, it will be a little cooler in here. When I get paid next week, I'll buy one of those digital thermometers everyone keeps mentioning.

The vine is pretty strong, it's like rubber over a big wire or something. I had one in Kami's old cage and it held her, but when the baby gets bigger than that, she'll have a nice big cage to move into :D

Cage looks really good!!

I have a red cup too, left over from past parties and want to get a green or black or something one too, the red jsut sticks out way too much

Thanks everyone! I checked my temps this morning and when I got home from work and the basking spot was only 85. So it's probably just hotter when I have my heater going. I lowered the vine a little. She ate all the crickets out of the cup that I left for her, so I think it's an ok spot for it but I might move it up a little or find something better than a plastic cup to use. I saw a jar that someone covered in rope that looked really cool, I might try to do something like that.

Here is a link to a real cool feeder my cham loved it but I had to take it out until I move my cham to the new cage i am building =]... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_od47TlbXA

Looks good. I would get a digital thermometer though. The analogs can be off by 5 or more degrees. As for the cup, if she is eating out of it I would leave it be. It's good for your cham to have to move around a little to get to the food. My only concern with using cups like this, is sometime they like to perch on the rim and can knock them over. In your cage that would result in crix all over your house. I like to use deep Tupperware type containers for feed bins. You can find ones that look like they are meant to hold half a loaf of bread.

As long as the door is closed, the cup won't go anywhere because it's kinda wedged in the corner. I might go with something else though because the cup is ugly and doesn't blend in. The tupperware container you mentioned would probably be too big for my cage but might work for Kami's cage. Thanks for the tip! I'm definitely going to get a digital thermometer when I get paid again.
