New cage for young chameleon, suggestions and comments?

wow well, ive spent like 400$ so far and 70$ on the fall now i think its useless im returning it tomorrow lol umm other than that i think everything its been worth it =) gunna look more for a drip sistem now P

go out and get a little dripper by zoo med :) they have little ports on the top of the screen cage that you can stick it in :) usually hide it in a plant but for the tip leave it out so he can see the drips :) they also carry the "Big" dripper which lasts longer :) i would love to get a background for it :) when i get it! I have one with my glass terrarium I love them! :) it helps with humidity! :)

I just have "The Little Dripper" sitting on top of mine. Probably overpriced for what it is, but I'd rather buy one than make something. It's one of the few things I kept LOL

ik i have one! they are nice but mine doesn't really work well... :/ lol so i mist him

I hand mist and drip. My husband fills the dripper when he gets up. He swears it's dripping when he leaves for work. By the time I get up it's usually stopped, so I turn the spigot thingy until the water is flowing, then I turn it until I have the drip count that I like. Not the best thing, but it works well enough.

Oops. I don't think it was working then! Some folks here have made their own, so maybe do a search. I don't make -- I buy LOL. My husband will make certain things if I ask, but this is more my hobby than his, so I keep the requests to a minimum.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant hand misting, which is what I do. It seems it's all I ever do LOL

ive been wanting to get one but there spendy :) lol! and i would have to get two! D:

I'm using a large plastic sour cream tub with a tiny pinhole in it as a dripper. Cheap & dishwasher friendly! :D If you do this, be careful to not make the pinhole too large or you'll get more of a stream of water than a drip.

I would suggest reading up on supplements. Do a search on supplements on this forum & start reading, lots of info here. Way too much to explain in one sentence. :)

Also, it looks like you have a compact flouro UVB bulb, the word on the chameleonforum street is that some CFLs can be really bad for your chams eyes & possibly cause blindness. Most people agree that a 5.0 linear (long & straight) UVB bulb is the way to go. Besides that, most people will keep a 40-75 watt basking bulb depending on your location. Sometimes another bright linear flouro for plant growth.

Cute baby by the way!

hahahahahahaha i guess it does! :p what are your chameleons names? mine is Gonzo ;) id fit better in a jacksons chameleon but i like it haha

Oh, didn't realize you had a compact bulb. That's something else I bought then returned. There is evidence that they cause blindness in chams. Some say that that's not a problem with the new ones, but I'd rather err on the side of caution. Get a linear and play it safe. So, on your return list so far: waterfall, bulb, carpet ... ;)
