Im hoping to recieve my new Mt. kenyan Jacksons male baby a.s.a.p. (weather permitting) and Im planning on housing him in my bedroom with my older vieled male, who is roughly 10 months old, give or take. Will either one or the other or both be overly stressed about this situation? do I need to place some sort of visual divider between the two cages so that they cant see each other? Both cages are going to be about 3 feet apart from each other and each has plenty of live and plastic foliage of various colors, if that helps.

yes. most chams dont like other chams. so I would suggest puttting a visual barrier so they cant see each other.

Definately use a visual divider. I recently lost a 4 year old panther because he was stressed out by a 4 month old veiled right next to him. He never showed any signs of being stressed so I didn't think it was a problem. Be on the safe side, don't let them see each other! Good luck!

I would definately put a divider. We use the anti-slip kitchen matt type thingy (see picture) I couldn't find a black pitcure on line - but this is the stuff only in black. It still let's light through, but our Cham's can't see eachother :)

I plan on using the acrylic backing they sell at petland that you use for the background on fish tanks, its water proof and has that arboreal/woodland look to it. I use three 18x18 sheets on the back of the veiled cage to prevent water damage to my walls from spraying, so Im thinking that would make an appropriate divider for the new baby cage. I just wonder if I use the "blue" side could the baby see his reflection and be scared of it?

Very good information to know!

I have a Male veil whom is about.. 13" now and am planning on getting a female very soon. It is looking like the female i get will have to be smaller then him, so i will certainly put a divider between them so they can't see each-other.
