Hello my name is Will. I got a captive breed jackson chameleon for my son. It came from a friend of a friend. This was his last baby from a clutch of about 18. I just got him on friday the 26th. I did some research before hand and was lurking around in here. He is only about 2 1/2 months old. I ended up buying the zoomed chameleon kit that came with the medium 16x16x30 reptibreeze cage

I know it has just basic stuff but I also bought a 20" zoomed terrarium light that had a18" t8 5.0 reptisun bulb. And upgraded the 60 watt day bulb to a 100 watt day bulb. I have an old house and was worried the temp wouldn't be high enough. I bought a set of petco analog temp gauge and humidity gauge. I have temp gauge kinda lower right side and that reads 65-70 through out the day and humidity gauge is around 40%-80% between me misting cage. I have the temp prob up by the heat bulb and it reads between 75°-84°.

As for setup I have one small live terrarium plant that I like from petco. Not sure what it is but they said with those they only get non toxic safe ones for all types of lizards. I just liked it cause it had some red in it and not just all green.

Theres 2 fake plants, fake bamboo and 2 fake bamboo sticks that took a while to arrange. I also got moss to try and hold humidity but im gonna try and find a bigger potted plant and get rid of the moss.

And now for King as my son named him after the king on Disney's Cars movie. Unfortunately I can't change this great pic of him. This was the picture the guy sent me when I asked for one before committing to buy him. And it is perfect my wife fell in love with him and gave me the green light to get him. Its so cute how u can see his little horn nubs starting to form

This is when I picked him up. He was out on the front step holding him. I tried to get pic of him buy the car and he started changing white. Which I didn't think he would go that pale.

Welcome to both you and King. My thoughts would be he needs lots more sticks for climbing. They need to be both vertical and horizontal . The current sticks look nice but are way to large for his little feet. He can't get his feet around the to get a good grip. You can get a ficus or umbrella tree, they offer excellent climbing places. Also pothos are good plants. You should get rid of the moss, or what ever is in the bottom of his cage. It is easy for him to get a piece of the substrate when he is eating, that could kill him. Last would be to make sure his feeders are not too big. Unless they are no bigger than the distance between his eyes they should be fine.
Since he is a Jackson, be careful not to over supplement.

Yea I was looking at the ficus on lllreptile. Figured I could just get that and not worry about repoting it. It says it's good to since they grow them there with no pesticides.

Ok just for reference here is the container I put the roaches in and the size I'm feeding him. I put my finger there so u can get a better idea of size

And just a shot of him this morning. This is after I misted the cage and him. He tends to stay on this side. I thought it was cause of the heat but now after reading laurie post I'm guessing it's just easier for him to grip up these fake leafs and how the lil vine is more at this end.

Now first night ended up doing a lot of running around and didn't feed him. But imisted cage like 4 our 5 times. Yesterday on day 2 I put in about 5-6 roaches but not really sure. Regardless this morning when I got home from (I work over night at a hospital) there was only 2 roaches. Those I dusted with the trial pack of reprical with d3. That's why the roaches I put in today (day 3) are not dusted. But I made sure to count them this time. I put in 7 so hopefully I will see them disappear and know that he is eating.
