New Cham won't open one eye very much

Hello I am a new Cham owner and have a baby male veiled cham about 3 months old. He just was introduced into his new habitat yesterday and today I noticed him babying his right eye. He opens it from time to time but seems to keep it shut most of the time. I tried to flush his eye out with some water to see if that helped as I thought maybe he poked it or has something in it. The eye doesn't seem swollen at all at the moment. If this does not get better by the end of the week I'll end up visiting the vet. HWe went on a 3 hour car ride to pick him up and my guess is he might have hit his eye in the carrying cage on the way home. Help! anybody have any ideas on how to help my new little guy. BTW HES SO DAMN CUTE.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new little one. Sorry to hear he is having an eye problem. Is he just holding it closed as if he is sleeping with one eye closed or is he actively trying to move it around and clean it when he has it closed?

Also, what lighting are you currently using. Sometimes it can be the lights at are irritating his eyes. Pictures of the little man might help too.

Also, I would poke around https://www.chameleonforums.com/cha...sheets-caging-lighting-nutrition-more-104558/ and make sure you have all the correct supplies and setup.

Eye issue response

Hey there thank you for responding. My cham seems to be closing the one right eye and occasionally opening it and moves the eye around like attempting to clean it. I flushed his eye out but didn't seem to help. I've included pictures of him opening an closing his eye, as well as his living quarters. Current Humidity ranges from 75-90 depending on when I mist/spray. Temperature during the day (12 hrs) is around 75 and up to 85 in basking area accompanied by a second light which is a uvb lamp. Night time temp is moderated by a night warmth lamp that currently states 65 degrees.

Never mind, unfortunately he passed away this morning. What a drag he was so friendly, and seemed very healthy other than the eye problem.
