I have just got a baby jackson cham. I've named her Khamil. She is awesome! Before i bought her i did some research but I still have a few questions.

First things is about feeding, The cage I have is a small cage, here it is...

I put a few crickets in there and she ate about 4 of 10 crickets i put in there (that I know of). She is still very small and the crickets are pin-head sized. I know they shouldn't be handled alot but should should I make a very small plastic teri for it with branches and fake leaves when it's feeding time for easier feeding?

Second question, How often should I spray the cage with water? I spray it three times a day..is that too much or too less?

I really like your setup for a baby Jackson. I don't know a lot about them but I own a veiled chameleon. He is 5 months and I mist him 3-4 times a day for about 3-5 minutes. My cage is 18x18x36' so I have a few more plats to spray but I would say if you spray maybe 2-3 times a day for 1 to 2 minutes would be great. Just make sure you add a plant in there because it will keep the humidity up. An umbrella or pothos would be great because your baby would climb and hide in there. Remember chameleons love to climb. If you can, add a few branches in there.

i found with my veiled chameleon that putting a bowl or something of that sort with the crickets in it underneath the foliage and perch helped him out with eating as he didnt have to chase the crickets around the cage lol.
with my veiled i sprayed 3 or four times a day to keep the humidity up but im not sure exactly what a jackson needs compared to a veiled. i do suggest that you set up a drip system for her to drink from because they are attracted to the dripping of the water on the foliage and will drink the water off the leaves, like they would in their natural environment.
here's a care sheet for jacksons, its called montane chameleon, thats what a jackson is.

Thanks alot for the advice and such, Yeah, I am planning on adding some plants and some branches. I want her to have the best home....EVEr!!!

That's great to hear. I was just the same exact way last week before I got my first chameleon. I got everything prepared before my chameleon arrived and I posted pictures here so people could give me their advice and their opinion on how my cage is. It will be stressing because you will want everything to be perfect but it'll all come out great dont worry. You're doing a good job so far. No problem :)
 
thats a good drip system. do you have it so that drip is running onto the leaves? shell drink the water off of the leaves, but not out of a bowl. just asking cuz its had to tell in the first pic

it is so tiny.
i just got a jackson although he is 5 months old.
the most important thing is always gonna b patience;) and
a caring owner

and it feels that you are doing the research and asking questions,
it is very important to ask any question.
the experienced keepers here
are extremely helpful!

No it drips into the leaves and then into a bowl then i have a tubing inside the bowl that drains the water out of the bowl out the cage.

Thanks!! I just trying to figure out a solution for feeding. I know for a fact she has eaten 4 crickets today, but they can escape the cage (pin heads, ugh). So, I've set up a bowl of crickets in the cage next to a branch where she can climb on and eat the crickets, hopefully she sees them and eats them. :()
 
putting them into a bowl that they cant hop out of should solve that problem. she'll definally see them in there and that gives her the chance to eat em as she pleases :) dont forget about getting supplements to put on the crickets because that is essential for the baby chameleons growth and nutrition! on the care sheets i gave you it has the recommended list for supplements :)

Thanks for the advice and all that. :D

I know about supplements and stuff i know their totally differnt from chams but i've had bearded dragons for 6 years and been breeding for 3.

So, I setup that bowl underdeath some branches and leaves where she could reach and get the crickets and where the crickets couldn't get out. She ate about 10-12 crickets this morning! wow! Now she is basking, I love herrrr!

Will she eat veggies? What veggies are good for her and where should I place them?

You should gutload your crickets. That's my best suggestion because crickets will eat anything but if you provide them with great fruits they will eat it and your chameleon will get the cricket and the nutrients inside of them from their gutloading food. It does help a lot but make sure it's the same day the crickets eat because the crickets will have it in their stomach to digest and that's the best time. Make sure to give them about 2-3 hours and then feed them to your chameleon. Don't forget about dusting. Multivitamins and calcium with D3 twice a month so every 2 weeks and regular calcium without D3 everyday :)

that's awesome!! i'm glad the bowl worked out good, she's obviously gonna be a good eater! :) haha, its so easy to fall in love with these amazing creatures, they are just soooo neat! :D

Have you had babies before?
They are tricky to keep alive past 6 months, thats why most ppl like to
buy them when they ase subadult.
If you have the time though, you wont have a problem.
