New deremensis arrived!

Thanks Fabian. I think he looks great too. Those eyes are something. Really good at giving you the stink-eye! Look kind of human to me.

Kent-All right! I've been waiting to read about what I'm doing wrong. LOL Hopefully not too much. Thanks.

It's the CiN issue 26 that reportedly has info on deremensis. Graciously, Kent agreed to send me a copy of the article.

Btw, I finally fixed our scanner at work and have a boss-less day tomorrow so was going to take in the article on this species tomorrow. Fabián, do you have a copy already? Brad?

I do not have a copy of that issue.
Are you offering one?
Thanks!

As requested, here are some updated photos of Duke. His little horns are growing and he eats great. The pictures progress as he's getting madder and madder at the camera.

Fabian, does the lower horn look OK to you? It seems to be growing to one side and rounded off. Of course, this gives him character. But just curious.

Thanks for looking!

Really nice animals those deremenis. On the first picture you can clearly see the parietal eye. Until now I found this the only species to see this thrid eye so easily.

I loved this species. I really had bad luck with these, had them from babies to adult and then moved them to an other room and all died within 2 weeks. I really didn't had problems with the horns from captive borns to grow straight.

There is an old picture of my male on the forum here I'll search for it and post it.

I don't see it. Is it between the horns?

*Sorry about the blurry magnification.

Cheers,

Thanks,
I'm going to go have a closer look when I get home. Didn't know I had a TRi-clops. LOL

Gary,
I'd love to bring him to a meeting, but he is very shy.

Update on Duke

Duke is doing great, he's grown quite a bit. From 18g to 58g. Eats almost everything, but his favorites are silkworm moths and skippers (little butterflies.) I am feeding him every other day now.

Here are some pictures for everyone who has a deremensis from Fabian. I would love to see your guys and gals too!

These pictures show how much love he has for the camera, and that his patience was wearing thin.

Where are you getting the skippers? I swear I hear grunting and squealling noises when I go to feed my deremensises.

The skippers I catch by hand off of my flowers that I strategically planted in the flower garden:) They love lavender, lantana, verbena, coreopsis and zinnias.

Wow... what a gorgeous animal! You've done such a fantastic job raising him, Tylene. His colors are superb, and the skin looks flawless, especially the interstitial, gular, section.

I see what you mean about the rostral horn-- how strange, but it gives him lots of character. It will be interesting to see how it develops as it grows even more.

Thanks so much for the photographic update.

Cheers!

Fabián
