New family member!!!

So, there are some CRAZY winds and fire threats here where I live, the fence already caught on fire, thankfully it’s put out now. But I’m 99% sure we will have to evacuate sometime today or tomorrow. Is there anything I should do for Arnold? I don’t want him to be stressed but with nine chicks, two dogs and two cats that might be hard. Any ideas? I’m definitely taking some of his favorite bugs to please him.

I have zero to offer in the way of Beardie love, but as a Northern California girl, I know this drill well. Be safe. Go when they say go. Don't hesitate. Sending love to you and your babies.

I would say to follow the same rules for Arnold as for any living creature needing to evacuate. Take essentials enough for several days - food, water, supplements/medications. You’ll also need something to put him in for travel and in the event that you’re gone for several days or more, a larger containment area. I don’t know if his little playground fence folds up or panels are separate, but that might be a good item. While you can get away for a few days without uvb, he will need his heat light. If you want to plan for worst case scenario, take his uvb too. I would imagine that Arnold would be like a chameleon and fall asleep if put in a dark box for travel, but not certain. I do pray for you, your family and all of your critters to be safe and free from catastrophe. 🙏🙏🙏💗💗💗

The wind has gone down a little and no active fires near us for now. I still have all the stuff I need together just in case, but two big dogs and no fence makes a loud house lol. This boy was shaking when we got home, and hasn’t left our side since.

The wind has died down and we haven't had any fires near us for ten hours, hoping it stays that way. I’m going to be fixing the fence this evening, along with the chicken run, but thankfully that’s the only thing that was damaged. Arnold’s pop out fence, basking light and supplements all fit perfectly in a suitcase, along with the chicks light, and electrolytes. I plan to do the same setup since tornado season is coming up. The only thing to worry about then is the labradoodle, since he is horrified of the shelter. Anyway, Arnold went to sleep three hours early and will be getting lots of treats when he wakes up, so will the rest of the animals 😊

Thank goodness everything turned out ok for you!
My Beastie has awful anxiety and I have tried just about everything, starting with things like a thunder jacket and natural remedies to finally heavy drugs. The best I can do is get him sedated and crate him so he doesn’t tear apart the house or hurt himself (or me). He gets anxious from the smallest things like when I turn the oven on, beardie glass surfing or my work phone text alerts. For those small things, just a short time in his crate is enough. For big things like fireworks and thunderstorms, it’s heavy drugs and crate. Yes, he’s a big American bully and pit mix…ooh, so scary. 😱😂😂 He’s just my big old senior puppy. 🤗

Omg that face is to die for! I love pitties, reminds me of my girl who was a bulldog mix, but she definitely lived up to the scary dog rumors when on leash, but at home she was just our sassy smushy faced girl!!

Oh my gosh he's precious 🥰 I have thought about getting him a anxiety jacket, bit I think he'd be scared of it as well lol.

Thank you!!

They are both adorable! Do you know what kind Sherbert is?
Thank you!

Sherbert was a Sambava Panther chameleon, from Ready’s Rainforest. They are amazing breeders and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a panther 🙂 here is my favorite picture of him! He had the most beautiful oranges and pinks!

Arnold on the other hand, is from Petco so I’ve got no idea about his ancestors lol, I just know he really likes food!
