New here, new cham owner

Hi everyone! Im brand new here and just purchased my first chameleon about a week ago. He is a male jackson. The pet store told me under a year old. They sold me a terrarium setup but explained nothing. Even told me he would drink from a water bowl and should eat wax worms daily. I did my research and currently have a diy dripper set up and am feeding him crickets. He has a uvb (which the never explained). I have read much on this forum so THANK YOU everyone. If there are any beginner tips i could use them.
Ive owned frogs and snakes but this guy won my heart. I have the interest and means to give him a good life, just need more knowledge. Thanks again.d

Unfortunately, pet stores are very often ignorant to chameleon care. No on the wax worms and no on the water bowl. Like Pharaoh2015 suggested, an explanation of your current setup will help. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Yes, be very sparing with wax worms, maybe even avoid giving them to your chameleon at all, they're alright as an occasional treat, but I mean VERY occasional, I don't give them to mine at all because compared to other feeders they contain no real nutritional value.

Im having a terrible time keeping the humidity up its a screened enclosure, i have a potho plant and two branches for him to rest and bask on. I bought a fogger but i may be returning it asit keeps turning off even when full. I will het pics up asap!

The more live foliage you have in the cage the more surfaces there are to trap and hold moisture from fogging or misting. Also, hang clear plastic sheeting on the back/sides of the screen cage to help hold in moisture. Most indoor rooms are much lower humidity than a jax would like, so the dry air just keeps wicking the cage moisture away. It changes by season depending on where you live, whether you need AC in summer or forced air heat in winter. Enclosing the screen sides won't create something as sealed as a glass tank, but will help with humidity.
