So! The new season has started and we already have some big changes, some injuries, some surprises!

The bottom line is, who makes the series, who doesn't, and most importantly, who wins the Cup?? I know some of you are very BIG fans of certain teams and i'm sure you'll bet on your team! *looks at the Washington, Chicago, Vancouver and Montreal fans!* :D

I think Toronto is already planning a parade!!! lol. They've had a strong start but will struggle to make the playoffs. Vancouver has the strongest team ( a slow start though) and I think they are the team to beat. L.A is strong, I wouldnt be surprised if they won it all. Chicago unloaded too many-- Having said that.

GO HABS!!!

Haha Toronto had major changes during the summer time, but they don't stand a chance at winning the Cup! But if they can just make the series she should be satisfied if you think of last season!

The Caps are good again, but way too centered on offensive. The problem is if they are facing a good defensive team in playoffs, or another team with a very hot goaltender, they won't be able to win. This is why i don't believe they will win the Cup. But once again, their season will be crazy i have no doubt about it!!

Chicago definately won't win much this year. Last year was their year, and they lost too many talented players!!

I wonder how good will be Vancouver in the playoffs this year. I am not affraid of them making the playoffs, the question is how well they will be in playoffs. Afterall, it's not the first time that they have a very good team, and they always struggled to get to the finals. Of course, like you said Sandra, the western conference is much better than the eastern, which means the road is way harder! But it's definately a team to watch as their potentiel is very high.

The L.A. Kings are a mysterious team to me. Other than the playersheet, i haven't seen them play often, so sadly i can not judge them! :S

And there are the Habs! This year they got some good players coming in, like Halpern and Boyd, and i wonder how well they will do. Of course, i don't believe they are a true contestant for the Cup, but i believe they can do like last year, especially if the team stays healthy and Price does as good as he does right now!

My personal conclusion to this team is: i don't know who will win the Cup! I am also not sure if Toronto will be in series, but their chances are high. I will also have a close look at the new Tampa Bay Lightning team, but i think the next year will be their year, not right now!

Thinking about it... maybe we should have a hockey pool for the Chameleonforums!! What do you think of that idea? :D

Not Canada! Blame them!.. wait a second..

Good luck to everyone. I've never really gotten into hockey (lack of cable/sat. doesn't help) but it has always looked cool, especially the penalty box.. hehehe..

You should check out a Coyotes game ( not quite sure how close you are to Phoenix--I think the arena is in Glendale). Tix are probably cheap there. To really appreciate the speed of the game, get some good seats up close to the action. Its a blast!

Haha compared to Canada, the tickets are definately cheaper!!! Here at Montreal, i believe the less expensive tickets are over 60$ ! :p And i heard Toronto's tickets are even more expensive!!

I'm from Chicago but live in Florida! I was up there this summer for all the mayhem when they won the cup! so wait a minute? Who did they unload? My husband said they got a good shot cause they have the same team? What they heck is he talking about.

They got rid of Kris Versteeg, Dustin Byflugien, Brent Sopel, Ben Eager, Andrew Ladd and maybe one or two more that I forget. They had to unload salary to keep their 'young guns'

Losing these hurt a team a lot!! That made the Hawks as good as some of the youngest teams (ie Pittsburgh, Washington, and id even add Tampa Bay now). They are massively based on offensive, with a very poor defense and a tricky goaltender. Winning the Cup for them is harder, but less possible. However it makes the show VERY interesting and spectacular! But as you guys probably know, a good offense brings the fans, while a good defense brings the Cup! :)

morpheon are you speaking about chicago in reference to poor defence and goaltending?

they have what id say is the strongest defence pair in the league with seabrook and keith... hell they were good enough together to be taken as a pair for team canada in the olympics.

they also traded away niemi for turko from dallas.... bad choice. i thought niemi was a clutch goalie.

however, im cheering for the home town leafs this year.
