New Jackson!

I got a jackson chameleon today and i had been wanting one for a long time. I figured I had done so well with my female veiled that I trusted my husbandry enough to get him. He is about 4 months old. I am still debating on the name...either sammuel L, or sampson, or stuart, or jerry or moses or sadam ( because it happened to be the first name mentioned on TV) i dont know lol. Sorry about the pictures, i wanted to share my excitement so i woke him up and they are all blurry wt excitement!

Very cool, Molly I also got a baby Jackson's this weekend. It took me a few days but I'm calling him Zaraki, and I estimate he's maybe 1 or 2 months old cause he's really small. A bit smaller than my veiled chameleon (Grimmjow) back in October. I love these guys.

Well I tend to name pets after their species name (kind of like a pun; i.e Baldwin for my first ball python). I would personally name him Tops cause he looks like a mini triceratops. I see SaiyanFury is fan of Bleach. I named one of my sand boas Gaara of the Sand, so I know where you're coming from.

Naming my jackson was easy, I simply named him Jackson. He was a little grumpy when I first got him. He bite me a couple of times. I knew an officer Jackson that was just as grumpy. I'm sure you could think of something more orignal then mine though.

I really love jacksons. They are generally so mellow and easy going. I have heard some people say that they are lazy and don't more around to much. I see quite a bit of activity out of mine, especially since I have made more of an effort to keep it cooler.

I am indeed a fan of Bleach. I've even taken to collecting the swords of the various Shinigami that reside in Soul Society. I also find the names refreshingly original.

The name Sammuel L. came from a pun on the species name sort of . (sammuel L Jackson) but he's really mellow. I saw him at the pet store being dominated by a female jackson in a 10 gallon aquarium and felt like he needed rescuing. Since, i got him home and put him in his new cage hes been a lot better, he drinks a lot and im not too sure about feeding because he eats small crickets and i let them loose in the reptarium. Im used to feeding my female veiled monster crickets and large dubias from a bowl i place at the bottom of her cage. Since the cage holes are about 1/3 of an inch most crickets can just walk through the holes. It sort of worries me that the pet store hand fed him so much (because the female ate all of the crickets). The name im leaning towards is "murphy" because well im not sure. It does seem to go with the name of my veiled "molly".

That's great Molly. I'm still waiting for my Jackson to get used to his enclosure so he'll eat. It's been about 4 days since I got him in it, but he still doesn't seem interested in eating. I guess he's still getting used to it. He took a mealworm 2 days ago, but he mostly crawls around and bit and sleeps the rest of the time. I'm hoping he comes around.

Yeah I figured it was a pun on the species name as well. Murphy is actually good name. Also I know how you feel about rescuing animals from a pet store. I've done impulse buys on stuff like that. I once got a blood python as an impulse buy and that didn't turn out well. Was not prepared to give her the proper care she needed. =(. That's why I do long research before I buy into a new species of any kind now. Still haven't gotten my first cham, but I'm getting there.

Awesome Looking Jackson! Even in the blurry pick he looks great! My buddy from Hawaii was telling me how there are awesome looking Jacksons all over the trees out there. Next time I'm there I'm going on a chameleon expedition! I saw an awesome vid of a beautiful wild Jackson in the video competition thread. It inspired me!

Hi pardon the lateness of my reply, but I'm collecting the swords of the Captains and major players. They all have unique swords, like Rukia's Sode no Shirayuki, and Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu.
