New member with new babies

Hi there! Right now it has been a little cooler at night, around 50 F. We are heading to et a bother cage set up so I will have new pictures after so try and get the other lil guy in a better place to check the gender. I was going to look into a egg laying stuff while at the store.

As far as the crickets go, we didn't gut load them first. Like I said this was a spur of the moment thing and now we are so excited and doing research after the fact. It would have been so much easier to have done the research before hand. Lol!

And the temp gun is a great idea. I definitely want an automated mister as well because we are not home during the day.

Thanks for your awesome info and help!!

I know many people don't take this step with the pet store that mislead them so badly, but if it was me I would go back to them and describe just how poor their "husbandry information" was...and also describe how much more $ and time you had to spend correcting everything so your new pets wouldn't die a miserable death. And, often we hear that the stores don't even carry the correct supplies or set up appropriate example habitats that their own livestock should have to survive. They sold you stuff your chams don't need or can't use (that hide log and water dish!!!), and didn't sell you things they should have. Sure they may blow you off saying they only hand out care that is developed by their corporate office, but unless customers close the loop and haul them onto the carpet about this nothing will change and many more chams will die. This corporate cruelty is inexcusable in the days of internet when proper care is so easy to find. I would rather the stores not even GIVE out husbandry info...just hand a customer a website link.

Yeah j really was surprised at how wrong their pamphlets even were. Once we put them in seperate houses they were moving around and seemed much happier. We still are trying to figure out a barrier to put between them that is safe and fire resistant.

So we were misting and I got some cool shots. Our female is named Trogdor. The boyfriend chose the name. And she did this wicked cool spotting, which I assumed was because she was not happy with me misting her stuff or being near her. And our male is named Jafar. I thought it was fitting since these guys originated from Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Plus the male does not like anyone near him and he is a tough guy so I thought Jafar was an awesome fit.

There are all sorts of things you could use. The barrier doesn't really have to reach right up to the lights, so fire resistance isn't a huge concern. You could use a piece of opaque plastic sheeting, a piece cut from a garbage bag, a piece of shade cloth or weed barrier, coroplast, vinyl flooring, as long as it blocks their view and can handle getting misted, go for it.

Jafar is laying on his belly. Is he basking? Or does this mean he is sick. I read somewhere that belly laying indicated sickness.
