The new Mt. Meru (or dwarf) Jackson's chameleons (Trioceros jacksonii merumontanus) have been here a week, but I hadn't had a chance to photograph them until today, when I was up before sunrise so it would be cool enough to take them outside for an hour or so.

They are magnificent.

Female No.1

The male has maintained a really dark green coloration all along, but I expect it will slowly gain its normal aqua/yellow palette in the next couple of months, as they always do after some time in captivity.

Many more photos coming soon...

Ahhh, your favourites! :) Well one of them anyways. They look good; much better than I was expecting. Is that first female gravid?

My favorites, indeed! Unfortunately, the two females are tiny, and I mean tiny! They are almost as small as my 12-week-old xantholohphus, and if you look closely, the second female appears to have an old tail injury-- there's some lack of mobility about half-way. Nonetheless, the first female and the male appear to be in very good condition, so I have high hopes!

Thats great Fabián:D The females look super nice and the male looks pretty good too. I hope they do well for you. Great pics as usual!

Thanks, Jared!

If I weren't so full on chams I would love to have a dwarf male. No babies for me when they are that small. Your a great looking, I love the little male.

Congrats! I'm glad to see you got some nice ones. You've got all three subspecies, right? Oh, and, of course, love your photos!

Yeah, Fabián is the three-horn-man :D

Yes, I finally do, after all these years! But I fear I won't be the "three-horn man" until I can get all three jacksonii subspecies past F1-- and the first babies I get out of my nominates won't count :(

I have, however, been labeled "unsaved" and a "devil-worshipper" for being religiously-unaffiliated (especially in Texas), so I suppose I am at least a two-horn man. A red, fiery, one-- and with a tail at that! ;)

Cheers,

Fabián

Beautiful.. have you had them long enough to get an idea of each one's character / dispositon?
What camera took the photos?

I haven't had a chance to photograph any of these guys for a while, so I took one of the males outside for a photo shoot-- as you can see, he cooperated...
