Well my wife and I finally got our Nosy Be Panther Cham and couldn't be happier. we got him from Tiki Reptiles at the Phoenix reptile expo this past weekend and already have him all set up and he has already eaten once this morning right when i woke up i turned on his lights he moved up about 2 branches while i was getting dressed i turned around found him right as he struck at a cricket i had put in the night before. couldnt be happier with that? ill post up some better pictures in a week or so once he has fully settled in i dont even wanna get him out of his cage for like 2 months just cuz im afraid of stressin him out lol

roughly how many drips should there be per minute? if it even matters mine is drippin maybe every 5 seconds straight down into the ficus in the center

any suggestions are more than welcome first timer did some research but as yall know you will never learn everything always taught new things

Welcome to the forums! people on here are very kind and helpful, and you're right, i've been on here for about a month now and I read for about a month as well and am still learning more! I love your chameleon, (nosy bes are my favorite) and you're setup is nice as well, but I would move it off the dresser because from the misting the water that drips down gets the bottom wet and sometimes soaks through. But thats the only problem I see, you do know about calcium supplements and gutloading the feeders don't you?

i bought some feeder crickets from the show and im not sure if they r gutloaded or exactly wat that means but i do have calcium that i dusted the crickets with before i put them in im still learning alot about the diet and supplements so if you got any good pointers id love to here them

Gut loading is as simple as feeding your feeders, that way your Cham gets more nutrients, the calcium schedule should be this
Calcium WITHOUT d3 every feeding

Calcium WITH d3 twice a month

And a multivitamin twice a month.

The most commonly used calcium is rep-cal, it's what most people would recommend, and for the multivitamin- herptivite. As far as gut loading you can feed them almost every fruit/vegetable, oranges, carrots, apples, lettuce, squash, etc... You can also buy a gut loader that you serve with the food that enhances your chameleon even further. I use (and have heard very great things from people that use it) dinofuel from kilgours chameleons. The difference between the chameleon that uses it and the doesn't is very clear, it really makes a difference in the color and the crickets and other feeders love it!

in the tub of feeders is 2 carrots so im good there the cham came with repashy superfoods calcium plus so ill use that till its empty then switch to rep cal and ill get some of that herptivite and d3 stuff and dinofuel as well now is it normal for some of the crickets to die since there are so many it just happens or should i be keeping them better? i figure crickets live everywhere so they dont need special temps and junk but definitely right food

Yes, some will die but what are you keeping them in? There needs to be some type of ventilation in there because when they die they release a chemical in the air and kills the other crickets and the kill count just keeps going up lol. Also they need water. I don't use water in the dish because they can drown in that, I use water pillows, they're reusable and very useful.

What would be wrong with continuing the use of the calcium plus from Repashy ??? It is been pretty extensively used by one of the largest breeders in the country for the past three years and would allow you to have to only use ONE supplement.

Repashy also sells "Bug Burger" which is an excellent gut-load for your crickets. It's what I've been using and the way it's made it also a water source for the crickets.

It's really none of my business...........and you can do as you please. I was just suggesting something that several other keepers on here do and seems to be working well for them, and me.

I. Agree with winter hawk, don't think that what I told you, you have to do, it's just the methods I use, but I Do highly recommend dinofuel if you're looking for a gut load. The maker (tom kilgour) has even made 2 different versions of it to bring out different colors in your chameleon which really excites me! But if I were you I would read up on some and see which you think is the best.

thank you both for ur suggestions i now have a list of stuff i need to research an d purchase definitely need a cricket keeper thing so these things stop dying and i saw a duster container that i think would be awesome but idk if it works as good as it looks it will. i definitely need the mistking system probably just a basic setup and a drip system too
