New Owner...lots of questions!

I have had iguanas, but just got my first veiled chameleon. I have done a lot of research but have no experience. I would like to post a few pics to see if someone can help me find out the sex & approximate age of my new cham. Also, does it look like it has burns on the edges of casque or is this normal? Is it stressed in the pictures with dark green/blue spots? Is it too thin?

Also doesn’t look like she has burns on her casque. The dark spots in that picture look like she was defensive but any chameleon will be stressed when moved into a new home. Does she have a lay bin in her enclosure?

Looks female based on the lack of spur on the heels and pattern. No burned on the casque. They often will have darker coloring on the casque edges. Age is tough to guess accurately... Looking at her size and coloration I'd guess roughly 5ish months old but she could be younger or older. I would start reading about laying bins and female specific care.

Female veileds can start to develop a clutch of eggs as young as 6 months old even without a male present. Obviously those eggs will be infertile but a proper laying bin, supplementation and diet are essential to making sure she does not become eggbound.

Just out of curiosity, do you live in Sacramento? We recently had a cham rehomed and they said it went to a person that had iguanas.

Not that that's an issue but it will give us some background.

Almost any question you think you should know the answer to yo can simply google and 9 times out of 10 you’ll be directed here lol you’re in for a treat when she gets older her colors should be beautiful!
